The entire AP English program, including LaBua, is sub-standard at Rayburn. When I began college, I realized my AP English training was inferior to other classmates who attended other high schools.
Labua was a big talker, snobish, and only a fair teacher. He is overrated because when I moved to another district, I learned so much more from other English teachers. He should teach English I.
Don't listen to the haters. He is a GREAT teacher! He's just hard to impress. I took his class, and passed the AP English Language Exam
Labua is pretentious, phoney, and is not intellectual or a scholar. He would be better at teaching regular freshman English.
My friends in AP English II at Clear Lake High School and Pearland High School have much more advanced writing assignments. He is moody, egotistic, and at best, I would rate him only average.
his class is fun love the AP material can be arrogant but hes there to teach not to be loved cares for his students and his class is very challenging he helps you mature scholarly and morally
He is a bit overrated. He is good for teaching TAKS material, but not any advanced writing skills. I would rate him good for getting students through TAKS, but not very good for college preparation.
Great teacher! He tought me to analyze, think critically, and most importantly, how to write!
He was a good teacher, but I thought he had an attitude and could be arrogant at times.
LaBua is a very funny, helpful teacher. He's one of the best shining teachers in the AP program. He comes off as very mean at first, but he'll grow to be very nice and respectful.
freaking awesome. I had the best time in his class... it was one of those classes that you never forget :)
i dont know about english but i have Mr. L for homeroom and he is awesome.
He is an awesome english teacher at first he may come off as not so nice but if you get to know him and actually pay attention in his class you will learn a lot
