Idk what all the hate is about. Dr. Fiedler is one of the best teachers I've had so far in my life. You will learn a lot from her. The only problem is that no one studies that much and they expect her tests to be easy. I got an A even though a lot of people see that as impossible. All you gotta do is study the notes she gives, you read the textbook, and write down everything she says in your notebook. Don't go to tutoring your better off on your own TRUST ME she doesn't tutor anyone.
Brings her traditional ideals into the classroom. Shows more love to Anat/Phys students.Regurgitate info to pass.Has a good heart on occasion. Cardigan game strong.
I hated biology after her class. It was absolutely miserable. She was outdated, opinionated, and biased, refusing to teach evolution in favor of some of her homemade creationism. Her standards were insufferable. I was lucky not to fail.
I failed her first test. Failed as in I got an F not an A-. From that moment I knew I had to step it up and try harder because I was slowly falling into her bad side. The next semester I figured her out. I started getting A's in all her tests and she loved me. The secret... study the notes she makes you take. Simple as that. That's what her tests are.
Teaches things that are false or very outdated. Also refuses to teach evolution in class, instead brushing over the subject. I had to reteach myself everything for the SAT Bio test, and retrain my brain out of the false information she gave me. She is also very intimidating and not receptive to questions. She is unfair with people, even outstanding students who are sick or absent for valid reasons. Don't rely on her for anything; she backed out on writing my LOR a few days before deadline.
At first I thought I was going to learn a lot in this class; I was dissapointed. She doesn't want us to LEARN the material, she wants us to MEMORIZE it verbatim. Dr. Fiedler herself is terrifying.
Doesn't explain all of her directions, and when it comes to the test, she expects you to know everything, word for word. Even though, she only said it once and never told you to write it down. :(
I learned more about creationism in this class than I did evolution. However I am glad she is at a school for math and science where we know better than at another school where people might actually listen to her. Her lessons could sometimes be full of errors which she would pin on the students rather than herself. Frequently condescending, and almost never yields to questions. Commands the class into an almost authoritarian state, students feign attention only out of fear.
Triodide is not the way to say Triiodide. C5H10O5 IS NOT FRUCTOSE
Great teacher. Pay attention in class, and study like 10 minutes twice a week, and you will do absolutely fine, and learn tons. not much hw either. just DO NOT get on her bad side.
The thing about Fiedler is that you either love her or you hate her. I was one of the students that loved her. She was so intimidating that she forced her students to shape up and challenged us to see
Good teacher. Doesn't give homework. Just study notes you take and you get an A.
Disorganized; often leaves grading to the last minute. However, students will LEARN to study and learn the content. One of the most effective CAMS teachers. Extremely nice after sophomore year!
AMAZING teacher. Forces you to "shape up or ship out". I got a 700 on my SAT in Bio-M over a year and a half later without studying ANYTHING.
I hate how Dr. Fiedler "holds our hands" and then scolds us for depending on her. She's a good teacher, but she always has to be right. Anyway, I learned so I shouldn't complain.
GREAT TEACHER, you just have to listen...in life no one is gonna hold ur hand, grow up and learn on ur own...beware of chemistry!
Shes a hard teacher when you're in her class, but when you move on, she's awesome.
