Mr. Shoop is one of the meanest teachers i have ever had to deal with, He will make you feel stressed, degraded, and make you cry. His lessons are so vague you think to yourself "how the hell am i supposed to do this?" but then he expect you to get them 100% perfect. He thinks that his class is the only class that is important. so good luck if you have other classes that call for your attention. For the sake of your mental health, switch out. It's not worth it.

When you first meet him, he'll seem impossible to deal with and you'll want to switch immediatly! That would be the worst mistake you could make, the meaning and emphasis he puts behind his work will prepare you greatly for college! Sure the essays and works is pretty hard and graded strictly but he'll help you strive for the A!

Mr. Shoop was the number one most influential teacher I've had throughout high school. If you take the time to actually see past the idea that the work load may be a little more difficult and time consuming than that of which your other teachers may give you, it will become much more clear that the information he provides is vital to not only your success in high school, but in college as well. Listen to EVERYTHING he tells you, even if it sounds crazy, because it will all make sense in the end.

Mr. Shoop is an all around amazing teacher. Yes, his assignments are hefty, but from them you actually think and learn something, as opposed to mindless assignments given by other English teachers. I've learned more in Mr. Shoop's English class than in any other class I took this year. Mr. Shoop is a teacher who knows how to teach and makes you really apply what you've learned. Disregard what others say, he is a very kind teacher who genuinely cares about the education of his students.
