Mr. Cook's class will probably be the hardest class you take at the Academy but it'll also probably be the most rewarding. READ THE BOOK. It's a terrible book, but if you read it you will pass. His class is hard, his tests are harder, and his writing makes you want to cry. BUT, if you manage to get an A on one assignment, it is the most rewarding A you will ever receive. Undoubtedly one of the best teachers I've ever had. You get what you put in. Don't take this class if you don't want to work.
Best AP US teacher this side of the Mississippi. Pushes you to become a more effective writer and speaker about historical concepts. Treats it very much like a college level class.
AP AP- good for you, good for me. 'Nuff said. If you've read any Howard Zinn, you already know half of the material covered in AP US. Get ready to tear it up.
Very exciting class; he brings you into the discussion. He is vain about his classes, and his own beliefs cloud his better judgment. Paper grading policy is obtuse.
AP US rules! It's the toughest course that you'll ever take, but it will prepare you for anything.
Hard teacher to get used to, but he will push you to better yourself.
Had Mr. Cook my freshman year. Can't hide in that class. He pushed me and I learned a lot. My work ethic improved. As a junior I'm more involved in discussions. Take his class soon
Very Strict Teacher but you learn a lot and gets the points to you
Mr. Cook's expectations were high but I learned a lot from his class and found it very interesting.
