Mr. Jaye constantly pushes you to do well, and will constantly drill info until everyone understands it. The tests are hard but they're manageable as long as you care about math.
Best math teacher in Stuyvesant... or at least one of the best.
Mr. Jaye is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He might be a little crazy, and kinda weird at times, but he is understanding, and funny. He has a hard-line way of teaching that's very black or white, but its VERY EFFECTIVE and I absolutely loved it. Everything he taught stuck with me. He's strict about the methods he wants you to use, but it stays in your head. His tests reflect what we do in class and HW. If you get him, just remember to do the HW, or he will give you HELL about it
hes forgetful but generally pretty organized. do his hw and you should do fine in his class. he has a weird sense of humor but you get used to it after a while.
Mr. Jaye is really nice.....PSYCH LOL HE'S TOTALLY NOT
HAVE FUN MY YOUNG ROBOT SOPHS IN THE FUTURE HAVING ALGEBRA II WITH HIM
I had him for Algebra II. He was very helpful and tried his best to get someone to understand the topics. He gets mad at those who do not try. Those people who give him a low rating must not be trying.
Mr. Jaye is a good teacher. He's a strange human being in the sense that he's old fashioned and makes really weird jokes, but his teaching methods are clear and he cares about the understanding of his students. Unfortunately, he's not the most understanding person himself. It's really important to do all of his homeworks. His tests can be hard but as long as you study the notes (take notes) then you'll be fine. He doesn't give extra credit. Sometimes his class is boring. But he's a great person.
I don't even know this guy. But if he's so mean, you guys realize you can report him for cursing, can't you?
He's so mean, and gets very irritated if you don't understand something. Make sure not to get on his bad side. He once said, "Why don't you take your head out of your ASS" because a student put up the homework incorrectly.
I had Jaye for Trig and he was very informative. His tests were a bit hard at first, but it got easier as I got used to his teaching style. As long as you attempt at the homeworks and participate, you will get a good boost on your grade. Biased on girls sometimes..
Worst teacher ever. Confusing and curses a lot in class
Coming into his class, I wasn't the biggest fan of Mr. Jaye, but after a while, it gets better. Overall, he's a pretty decent teacher.
I've definitely noticed a better attitude given towards girls when compared to guys in the class. The material that's taught is definitely understandable, and his methods are usually sensible. Random
He curved everyones grade on the report card down.. He also has a very abrasive personality, his tests are pretty good usually though, but it doesnt matter cause he'll just curve it down..
Mr.Jaye is a really good teacher and he really wants you to learn which is hard to say about other teachers. You should always do your hw and its not that much and you pretty much pass if u do your hw
Excellent teacher. Has very organized lessons and notes. Homeworks are extremely light but manage to get you to learn the important concepts. Tests are easy for the most part, and are graded very easi
Really good math teacher. He's very organized and expects you to take good notes. His tests are pretty okay. Don't get on his bad side by missing homeworks and you'll do fine.
Maybe he's most impartial, but he teaches the material clearly and doing well in his class isn't that hard to achieve. He is pretty nice if you get on his good side.
Insanely nice. Teaches the material extremely well. Pretty easy tests if you just study your notes. Gives little hw too.
The best math teacher in Stuy! Clear, focused lessons. It is possible to get a 100 on every test he gives because he doesn't give any trick questions and he teaches everything that's on there. He tru
He will only be nice to you if you are good at math. Three missing homeworks and you are likely to fail. Jaye will completely ignore you if you struggle in his class. Girls will do better, guess why.
Very good teacher, however if you don't understand what he's teaching, you're screwed for the test. Tests aren't that bad
I love this math teacher. Just do your homework and you'll do fine on your tests. Just don't get on his bad side or else he will hate you for the rest of the term. Homework means a lot to him.
He's a great teacher and is extremely clear in his explanations. I learned so much from his classes. Sparked my interest in math.
He gives a lot of homework, and his tests are relatively easy. He does give extra credit, and make-up tests (sometimes). Do ALL of your homework, participate and don't get on his nerve.
He was a pretty awesome teacher. Okay tests, extra credit, but gives homework EVERYDAY almost. Take good notes, do all of the homeworks, participate,
i loved having mr jaye and all you have to do is do your homework every night and take good notes and you'll do welll
You can see that Mr. Jaye really cares that his students learn. If you follow his program--good notes, good homework--you should do very well.
Didn't understand a thing in his class. He didn't even review any of the material he aught and expected us to understand it on the first shot. He could have reviewed the stuff he taught so one passes
One of the best math teachers Ive ever had. He teaches the lessons well and never misses anything. Had him for MQ5 and now MQ6 is a breeze. I want him for AP
He is good at explaining things, but he has a lot of suppressed issues that make the class feel uneasy. I really understood MQ5, but at the same time I hated it since he was so scary.
He was an okay teacher. His tests were fair, he's a bit strange though. His lessons were also alright and I learned a fair amount.
"I love you, baby, but right now, you're so wrong I just want to slap you."
Really good teacher, very clear, prepared me well, pretty interesting.
Mr.Jaye is a good teacher, he gives steps on how to do things and his quizzes are really easy in the beginning. Sometimes he can be unclear but he's willing to help you. Become his favorite by talking to him, etc.
A Pompous Arrogant Teacher. Goes off on tangents, and then blames you for not know material not taught. Recycles his lessons. Will make you hate math.
funny! i had a problem with motion problems, but his teaching helped. i like how he gives steps to solving problems. he practically gives you the answers to his tests! so nice+easy
I have him for mq5; gives lots of quizzes, but they are easy. I actually learn stuff, not memorize it. He's kinda picky on little details.
VERY HARD GRADER... not really funny. test r hard. picks favorites.
very cool guy.. funny too.. DO HIS HW and you will ace his tests. (I kinda didn't so i thought he was hard).. however his teaching style is unclear
awful. didnt care, picky grader, favoritism, unreasonable
Pretty tough, but very cool. I love how he says, "That's good, you're extremely wrong, but you tried!"
Tough, very knowledgeable. Threw a desk across the room once, which freaked me out.
