Dr. Carroll is a great man with a sense of humor but he can not teach. His style is obsolete. All he does in class is tell irrelevant stories, history that barely relates to the subject, and anything that has to do with the subject is just "filler" work. He bases his grades on how much he likes you and doesn't teach at all. All we do is just translate passages from a book, and nothing else at all. We, the students want to learn. Seriously, administrators of the Boston Latin School, evaluate him.

The greatest teacher I ever had...grade school, high school, college, grad and post grad included. He's the guy you would have called as a life line on "Who wants to be a Millionaire". No joke. March of Folly comment below made be laugh out loud. Couple more: "It's often...pronounced off-en!". "For lunch, I had the Lobster Thermidor". Never learned a bit of Latin in his class but by Class II, you needed real life skills. Dr. Carroll gave you that. Thanks for all you did.
