Gettis is very interesting to say the least, I had him my freshmen year for honors english. on the days before tests he will always review with you. his review is literally word for word the test. so just write everything he says down, study it, and you will have a great year.
He was awesome and very nice!!! However, he's retired now.
Back in 9th grade I always enjoyed English because of him and would talk with him from time to time.
He grades essays based on how much he likes you. He's ancient. His class is all memorization. It shouldn't be called English. I have not become a better writer/reader. I have learned pointless info.
He's nicer towards girls, but he has a good sense of humor and is willing to help when you ask. His lectures and sheets are outdated, but the stories are enjoyable. Have an idea of what he is going to ask on the essay portions if you want a higher grade on the tests. Also, make sure you nitpick your research paper for mistakes because they can add up!
Anyone who complains about him might have a psychological disability.
i have him for honors.....he's a great teacher and really nice, but REALLY hard. he assigns a million different things to be done at one time, and the test which are usually all essays can be difficult. if ur gonna have him 9th grade honors, good luck on the research paper. finished mine 4 am this morning and handed it in today. ughh
Mr gettis is a really nice guy. His honors tests can be really hard though, and he enjoys slamming people with hard questions. If you have him for honors and regular his a completley different guy. his regular class i hear was very easy. he assgins about 14 books to read throught the year. then tests you on them. before the day of the test he gives you a study guide that is word forr word that information on the test. but it is a lot of memorization. there for you dont need to read the books.
Very easy. His class requires a lot of memorization, but for the most part if you write down everything he says word for word the review day before a test a memorize it. You will get a 100% without even reading the book or doing the work. He's a nice guy, very openminded.
hehe.....this guye wasn't even present 1/2 the year.....but a nice and good teacher
one of the best English teachers in the highschool. the rest of the English teachers are either boring and strict OR try TOO hard to be cool with the students
i wuoldnt kno how good of a techer cuz he was gone more then half the year, we had the substitutes more then we had gettis
he's never in school.. but i'm not complaining about that.. yea he can be funny but then again he can be real mean.. w.e tho
His list of "off limit" words is great. It's one of the reasons my client's press releases are so well written. His class helped me be a better writer.
A really nice and cool guy and really easy. His class is always fun and interesting, never boring. Makes weird jokes, tho.
He's a pretty good teacher and you can talk sports with him in class.
Great notes and eays studying. This guy taught me how to study good. Now i always get good grades!
his class was fun...he gives u the best notes...Pay attention and u dont have to ever study.
He's the best honors english teacher i've had but in this school thats not saying much...
In a way he's not helpful, because you don't need to read of the books to do incredibly well on his tests. But still he was really nice.
Just be there the day before the test and you'll be fine
hez alrite...his short answer tests are the best...heh.. aced all of them....haha
Many people in the class are smarter than him. He can't spell or pronounce words. He's harming our understanding of many concepts.
For the books, you really don't have to read them. He goes over everything you need to know the day before the test and whenever he hands out the review packets
He is not the most intelligent creature on the planet, but to pass the course, all you need is good memorization skills.
