Ms Gilston is a FANTASTIC APUSH teacher. She knows the curriculum so well that she can explain to her students noncondescendingly and crack jokes. Her essays require preparation and the multiple choice tests aren't too bad. Overall, a great teacher who is obviously passionate and LOVES her AP students.

Gilston, whether you like her or not or whether she likes you or not is a good teacher. Although her class is easy to pass, you can cheat on all the hws (she is or at least acts very oblivious) and i never cheat on her tests but I know people that do. But the point is that she teaches mainly by talking, and I learn very well in her class and cheating isnt necessary. She prepares you well for the regents and I really like her as a teacher. She knows a lot about everything and is a very niceperson

She knows her stuff and understands US history like the back of her hand. She is engaging and smart, and has a legitimate desire to teach her students the abundance of knowledge that he possesses.

Sometimes I like her, I think she is a pretty good teacher and is kind of funny. However, I think she's pretty biased (perhaps against boys?) since she gave me a low grade last semester after getting 90s on all my homeworks, tests, quizzes, etc and participating all the time. I dont know what the deal is, I guess I'm just a hatable person.

she can be hilarious at times and it mostly comes out of the student-hating sarcastic image image she gives off. As long as you aren't easily offended, she's a good teacher and prepares you pretty well for the AP. (Unlike mr. sperber it seems..)

I loved her: Best teacher I've had yet. Learned a great deal, garnered a love for U.S. history/history in general, and got a 780 on the U.S. History SAT II's

Completely and utterly unfit to teach AP US History. If you are considering taking this course and she is the teacher, drop it immediately!!!!! She is totally ridiculous and biased against students.

Easy teacher. Easy class. She always say she might collect something, 99.9% of the time, she doesn't mention to collect it.

she's an okay teacher. i didn't hate her but she's really distant with her students. definitely do your homework, study for her tests on regentsprep.org ... there's not much else to say about her.

She keeps giving a test with topics we did a month ago. I do badly because I forget what stuff was in the topic when we are doing something completely different in class.
