- I actually liked Balden, even though a lot of kids didn't. If all you do is screw around in class he won't like you and you won't get a good grade, but if you try in his class you will succeed. I came in as a terrible Spanish student, but I learned a ton in his class and got As. He really prepared me well for Spanish 3. You can bs the homework and still get full credit and he helps you out on tests, so even if the materal is hard, you can get an A. I'm a fan

- Its pretty easy to get his on his good side, just stop messing around when he tells you to. Once your on his good side he grades pretty easily, leaves you alone most of the time. He's fun, and outgoing although he does get a little akward at times.

- If your not one of his favorites (which I definitely was not) you are royally screwed. If he doesn't like you he nitpicks at your grade and he sent me outside for an hour about every class so I couldn't learn anything. Having him sucks.

I don't think Mr. Balden is that bad, i mean Spanish is my weakest subject, and i'm lucky that i have a 'B', wish i could have an 'A' though cause its frustrating not to. =( even so, if you ask Mr. Balden questions he will answer them, quite nice.(permalink) (report)

He doesn't know spanish very well and he doesn't help you at all. My spanish got worse in his class.(permalink) (report)
