Lectures are like sermon. Very intelligible man. But he has problems with grading objectively.
It's been seven years since I was in Mr. Lewis' class, but the mark of a great teacher is one who left such an impression, a student is writing this review seven years later. Mr. Lewis in an incredibly understanding person who genuinely cares for his students and his lax teaching style allows for his students to feel comfortable - a comfort that helps maximize the extent of their learning. I wrote my Senior Thesis on the Beats and it all started in his class. Would recommend, for sure.
Easy AP Class.
One of the most intellectual teachers that I have ever had. Really inspires intelligent conversation. I really appreciate the five minute breaks he gives during AP English. It seems to me that he really appreciates his students as people rather than just as his job. He gives breaks, grades nicely, teaches well, tells jokes, and develops relationships with each student.
Very laid back, but capable, teacher. He really like the subject matter of the class, and got along well with all the students.
Whoever said he is a disgrace to BHS is a liar. Mr. Lewis was the coolest English teacher I've ever had. I learned so much in his class. He's a super nice guy too.
Mr. Lewis is definitely my favorite teacher of all time. Ever.
He's a great guy & a good teacher if you pay attention or seek out his help. He won't force anything on you so might not get alot out of it but if you try you'll do fine on the exam.
He is a disgrace to BHS. His AP class is nothing but a joke. He slacks and is unfair to students. Awful teacher.
Really nice man. The workload probably isn't enough for an AP class, but he does a good job making writing seem less subjective by going over graded papers in class. Transcendentalism unit was amazin
I didn't learn too much from him, but I visited him as often as I could my senior year. He's a really cool guy and maybe if I read the books I would have done better on the AP exam...
I completely disagree with you on this. It's obvious you either never had his class or didn't do anything. He introduced me to my favorite novel, and is always joking with his students. Very caring
You can tell mr. lewis hates his job and it really shows though his teaching
Mr Lewis is by far the best english teacher ive had at BHS, and is genuinely great guy, and a very nice person. When it comes to grading being his neighbor cant hurt, haha, yet i think hesveryobjective
Good teacher but sometimes picks favorites and his grading can sometimes be subjective. One of the better teachers that i have had and his passion for what he does really shows in his lessons.
One of my favorites by far. Any teacher who relates to his students as Mr. Lewis does is going to be an amazing one, really cares about his subject and gives you something to think about every day.
Mr. Lewis is an excellent teacher. He gives an excellent outline of intellectual development in American literature. He is also incredibly nice and cares about his students.
hes a great guy- easy class with not enough writing for AP level, but you still learn a lot about the books you read. He is easy to talk to and connects with the students well.
If you pay attention during discussion, you will learn more in this class than you ever will in any other. Mr. Lewis is so gifted and is a splendid teacher.
A man who truly loves helphing young people. He can change the world from his classroom. Dude, righteous, humble
I love mr Lewis. He is just a cool guy. He is extremely nice and cool to talk to! He doesn't act like a teacher who thinks he is always right. Very cool
Just an overall cool guy, one of the few whose power hasnt got to his head.
He's just one of us, he's awsome. Very helpful class.
I thought Lewis was a fine english teacher. I learned a lot from him and he was very patient in terms of teaching.
lewis is the man. Almost everyone in my class cheated on almost every test or quiz but that was his fault for reading out answers and havin us grade our quiz.
