Mr. Marchant's Humanities 10 class is a totally unique environment in comparison to all other history classes. He acts laid-back but teaches well. Due to his seemingly lazy and even careless personality, a lot of students struggle to pay attention as he's constantly taken advantage by troublemakers or loud-mouths in the class. These interruptions can be detrimental to your learning, yet his exams aren't hard. Self-study and reread the textbook chapters he covers after every lesson! Best of luck.

Worst teacher I've ever had. Wouldn't give us a study guide for our final even though he knew I needed it. Counted things missing even when the entire class didn't know it was assigned. Awful.

He was a laid back teacher and understands history in different perspective and very professional and well when it comes to speaking of SAGA community and/or different race. Slightly vague directional tests were difficult but over all a good teacher.

People on here are f-ing ruthless, responses fueled by anger.
I think Mr. Marchant is fairly reasonable with his exams, and I do not spend hours preparing for them. He is good at explaining history as well, however, some things that he could change for better is giving more visuals in his power points, maybe more thorough study guides for 5in5s and tests, nd more group work.
If you are failing his class, maybe ask what part of the grade reflects upon yourself, as opposed to a teacher?

I think Mr. Marchant is an awesome teacher. He always has time for his students and always tries to make the classroom environment fun. I think if a student enjoys a class more that he will learn more as well and Mr. Marchant does that perfectly. #Greg4Prez

I currently have him for US History. Gives no extra credit assignments, and yet, he doesn't round up grades at the end of the semester!! WTF?? He shows minimum effort as a teacher, and tries to hide that by picking on students and joking around all the time. Plus, he never seems to be sorry for any of the hundred days on which he skips class, especially when he gives a quiz the day he gets back. He cares only about his OWN wellbeing, and overtly doesn't give a sh*t about his students. 0 stars!

This teacher is seriously ruining my year. He never teaches, and tries to hide that fact by joking around all the time. He skips school really often, and yet gives out a ridiculous amount of quizzes and tests that measure your memorization on the textbook chapters. Even the subs that come in are better than this useless guy. Can't wait till the year ends. Worst teacher I've ever had. If he's not willing to work, he should be fired. Be a comedian instead!

Such a BS lazy-a** teacher. Doesn't teach, skips school 1/3 of the year, super bureaucratic grading. As others have said already below, tests and quizzes are solely based on memorization of very small, unimportant details from the textbook, like dates, names, and numbers. No testing on "why" or "how" something was important. Just useless facts. He makes videos, textbooks, and powerpoints he got off the internet do all the teaching. Quizzes are often from the internet too! Why's he getting paid!?

Had him for Econ. Literally the funniest teacher you will ever meet! I laughed so hard in the class. He is super chill with the students and very very easy going! The class is not stressful at all. He kinda is a slacker himself so he doesn't teach super well but at least every time I go into the class I feel happy.

I had Mr Marchant sophomore year for us history. He is a great teacher who is very funny and knows how to make the class fun. I will have him again for econ next semester and am really exited. His tests and quizzes are easy as long as you read the chapters he assigned. He sometimes even lets you use your notes. He loves using the phrase the Butcher The bake And the candlestick maker

He's a pretty bad teacher overall. His tests and quizzes are so easy if you memorized the textbook/ chapters that he has assigned. He doesn't really know what he is doing but he tries hard to make it seem like he does. If you get into his class its both good and bad. The good part is that you can relax and just laugh at the way he makes fun of each student but the bad part is that you won't learn anything that the textbook hasn't already taught you.

He knows his history well, he's just not good at teaching the material to the students. Minimum day = minimum effort. He's a fun teacher and all, and a class I can relax in, but it doesn't offer much to learn. He's a good staff, just not a good teacher.

HORRIBLE TEACHER. The review below can't get any more accurate. His quizzes are so stupid and pointlessly difficult, entirely based on memorisation. At first I actually read the chapters and took solid notes, and completely bombed the quiz. But later I just memorised the terms, names, years, dates, and numbers in the assigned chapters without even reading them, and I got a 10/10. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I'm not learning anything. If you get him as your teacher, change your schedule ASAP.

It's true that he's funny, but seriously, he has no idea how to teach. He assigns several chapters to read, and each quiz that is accompanied with them for the next class is purely on extremely minor and trivial terms that you would NEVER go over again. It's complete memorisation. Literally, the textbook doesn't elaborate on these terms AT ALL, and they appear only ONCE in all the chapters. YOU DO NOT WANT THIS TEACHER.

He's extremely funny. But take that all away you get a lazy and a bs teacher. He's actually super lazy, never checks his email, and never corrects mistakes on parent portal, which is why my grades stay low despite how much I tell him to correct things. His teaching is not very good, basically writes paragraphs for his powerpoint lectures. He knows his stuff, and answers your questions, but as far as your grades, he really doesn't care that much.

The review before hand is literally the most accurate description of the class. He's hilarious but not particularly helpful. A lot of class time is spent making weird jokes and picking on a few kids for entertainment. Lectures are pretty boring but the tests aren't hard so it balances out anyway. Read the chapters he assigns if you want to ace his quizzes. Tests are pretty okay; a lot of this class is just self studying. Do all your homework and study for quizzes-- an A is pretty easy to get.

Bru-ha-ha. Did nothing, learned nothing, except a minimum day means minimum effort. Oh and there are a lot of butchers, bakers, and candle-stick makers. Oh and for 10th graders, remember the word Dunkirk when you read about it, it will come back and bite you it the an.us.

Don't bother trying in class. Read the sections he assigns, and you'll pass every quiz and test. You can sleep through this class, and notes are just repeats of the book. He loves joking around, great teacher. I enjoyed his class. It was one of the few classes I could go into and relax for the period.
