This is a VERY difficult class and he can be absolutely terrifying, but he made me fall in love with the subject. His course is very in depth and I am so glad I had him.

His class really isn't bad. His jokes and puns are very cringey sometimes, though. He doesn't EVER use the textbook and posts his notes online with blanks, so make sure that you get those filled in! His test questions ALL come from the notes. Mr. Groeneboer, if you ever read this, let me just say that I am proud to say "Yay, hooray, chemistry today!"

Mr.Groeneboer is so reasonable, and his teaching is not bad. He gives some home works everyday ,and he always makes sure that everyone understands. He does not want to make the class hard. He is so good at chemistry. Also, his tests are all from the notes that he give; you only have to pay attention to his teaching and study hard ;)

If you understand his sense of humor the class becomes much more enjoyable! Chemistry is an incredibly difficult subject to grasp, and he honestly did a better job than my college professors! He was the only teacher who seriously directed me on to a really helpful college path, he really does want to help if you ask! I took this class my senior year of high school, AFTER physics & I highly recommend doing so. I received an A in his class both semsters, so it is possible.

Overall, you teach yourself the chem curriculum through youtube videos and AP Chem students, because he does not explain topics clearly at all.

He is not as bad as everyone says, but he thinks that 1. Everyone should get it, and 2. chem is more important than any other class.

He's really confusing and sometimes just plain ridiculous but he knows what he's talking about and will be helpful if you get on his good side. We don't really go over how to do the homework but he's usually pretty chill about stamping it later. His laugh and lame jokes > life

Be prepared to do a ton of studying on your own. Gets annoyed if you ask for help on something that he did not explain. Tests are impossible. He does not want to be at school

He knows his stuff, but helping you means he must share his knowledge hence jeopardize his sense of superiority. Tests are fair but material not taught in detail within class forcing students to teach themselves . . . a valuable life skill yes, but these are 10th graders in an intro chem class not college students. A sad little man with many issues and likely lifelong regrets, his class (but not the students in it) is his only life .

I'm giving him props for somehow not getting fired for how bad of a teacher he is. He's naturally bad at teaching, and when someone complains about it he makes an excuse that its a "college prep" class. Where in reality he doesn't know the material.

Really great guy, just gotta understand his humor and not take everything he says to heart. Decent teacher, he knows what he's talking about. Definitely favors the smarter kids, but as long as you do your packets and sorta study for the tests you'll pull off the B. Don't expect him to baby you through everything that is for sure.

Mr. Groenboer is a decent guy but he is not the best of teachers. He is not clear while teaching and he spends more time yelling at the kids than teaching. He doesn't go over the homework problems leaving you to guess if your doing the work right. I am a straight A student, and I barely pulled off an A. Be prepared to do self studying because he cannot teach.

My favorite science teacher ever! I learned so much about chemistry this year and all the tests and homework were really easy and he helped me a lot with all of my homework and questions. He's such a sweet guy when you get on his good side if you know what I'm saying ;)

He would randomly announce loudly "WHAT-EVER!" when I was in Ocean. It was rather amusing and brow-raising. His grading scale is solid and is overall an OK teacher.
