Madame was hands down my favorite teacher at Troy. I had her for three years and loved her class. She is easy to talk to and gives great feedback and advice. She really works hard to help her students reach their full potential. I learned a lot about the french language and culture and enjoyed all of her creative teaching methods. Merci beaucoup Madame!
I was lucky enough to have Madame Hamrock for 3 years and she is one of my favorite teachers. The homework load is very manageable and she respects your time unlike other teachers. You'll learn a lot if you follow her recommendations with practicing at home, watching french videos, etc. She is extremely understanding as long as you respect her class and don't slack off. Her classes are interactive and she's funny without trying to be. You can talk to her about anything you need, not just french.
Madame Hamrock is a kindhearted and caring person. Her AP French class was the highlight of my junior year, and I loved the interactive assignments she gave us. She also has a great taste in movies, and I genuinely enjoyed watching every French movie she showed. Madame is the type of teacher you can go to for help with any type of problem, not just French, and she will always guide you and offer you great advice. I was lucky enough to have her for 2 yrs, and she definitely made Troy a lot better
Bonjour mes amis! Madame est un prof extraordinaire. Elle est tres bonne cars elle est tres drole et amusant.
I really miss Madame after I left Troy. She was if not one of the most supportive and great teachers I have ever had. I miss those days when I said "Bonjour Madame" every morning when I walked into her classroom
Hamrock is possibly the nicest teacher I've had at Troy, she teaches us so much about work management and dealing with the normal stresses of being in a competitive school. Sadly she does more of this teaching than the actual French, one can tell that she comes unprepared and unorganized to teach.
She is nice most of the times. Honestly one of the most pleasant teachers I've had. But to be fair she is very disorganized....But I did learn something from her even if I forget them after a while. Generally, people care not as much so that's probably why she gets frustrated and call ppl out sometimes.
An amazing person, and although her teaching styles are different, they work for students who are more hands on learners. She has taught me not just the French culture and language, but has inspired me through her constant presence during hard times. She is extremely approachable and is more than willing to help anyone who shows interest in learning. She has made French my favorite class since freshman year.
One important thing to keep in mind is that although many like to complain about Madame's sometimes disorganized class, she is immaculately helpful when a student approaches her for help. I hear many complaining and whining about her, but in the end it all gets old. We know who the slackers are and madame isn't one of them. She puts in far more effort than most other teachers, but simply gets a lot of sh*t because she teaches a subject students don't care as much about.
Madame is a a wonderful person and honestly one of the nicest people I know. Although she often has some organization issues, I learned more from her class than just French. While some of my teachers absolutely took away my interest in a subject, she has instilled in me a lifelong love of the language and culture. Madame can be harsh to the students whom we all know are slackers, so please disregard most of those reviews. She runs a very good ship, and I strongly recommend for everyone.
She doesn't even teach.
She is a sweet person but SHE DOES NOT TEACH and everyone in IB or AP better study by themselves because she pretty much has the teaching skills of a turnip.
great personality, HORRIBLE teaching skills. didn't learn anything from her, all she does is talk about random things. when she DOES teach, she gets off-track every 10 seconds. she's very nice, but does not teach
Awesome person, TERRIBLE TEACHER. If you want to learn French, study yourself. The class is so easy because Hamrock has NO IDEA what she is doing. However, she is so nice.
loved the potlucks (i mean cultural experiences XD). i miss the yummy quiches and eclairs and french onion soup soooo muuuccchhh. aghh Madame Hamrock i wish i could stay in your class forever!!
Wonderful teacher personality wise... but I do not think anyone will learn much from her when you get serious in level 3 and 4. I'm worried in how well she'll teach next year for these advanced classes.
she's very very unorganized. she can be pretty rude sometimes and i hate how she makes us do a bunch of workbook pages and then never collects or even checks them. we watch way too many movies which is great and all but its
Excellent teacher. Makes French fun and easy to learn.
i LOVE madame hamrock! she's the best! sooo funny! she makes french my favorite class :D
she's a nice teacher and her class isn't too hard. she's probably one of the weirdest teachers at troy. it can be kind of funny sometimes
Je vous adore, Madame! You're the BEST. You make french a really awesome class to look forward to. =)
her class is really great, even though i sometimes get confused...then je suis confusee! lol
completely unorganized: due dates are all mixed up and most of your assignments are lost. everyone this year says she's nice, but i guess she just didn't like our class cause she was pretty mean
