I dont care what anyones says about him, I know that his teaching methods are different but there's a reason why he's the head of the department. He's a wise person and also an amazing person and he really cares about his students

his ways of teaching math are different than the way other teachers do, so some people hate it, but i personally think his ways of teaching are easier because they are more concept based. i had him for math analysis and now i'm in his AP calc class and i have honestly enjoyed both years. you can tell that he truly cares about all of his students. he not only teaches math; he teaches us life lessons and he really does motivate us to do our best and succeed.

Honestly Mr Lopez is one of the worst teachers I have ever had in my life. Not only does his teaching method confuse me, but he is also very rude to students who don't understand him. I have never had anything lower than an A in a math class before but I managed to end this semester with a D. Not to mention he plays favoritism with students who speak spanish and overlooks all of their missing work. Unless you're hispanic, switch out immediately.

If you read majority of the reviews on here, the many of people who gave home five or four stars on account of his being "funny" or "cool" but went on to say he's not a good teacher. This,by the way, is very true. His unorthodox methods add extra steps to the problem, further complicating it. Although this could make the problem faster to do,it's makes it very easy to become confused . Switch out.

Mr. Lopez is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. He has stated, in his very own Algebra 2 class that he doesn't even teach algebra 2, yet what comes after it. He also has his own way of doing everything, and if you don't like it, he will make your life miserable. Mr. Lopez talks more about life than he teaches, and often shows condescension and disrespect to anyone he doesn't like, including myself. If you are in his class currently, I advise leaving.

Well how do I start. His ap calc should be called ap tests taking. You take so many tests that he doesn't ever grade or give feedback on. I doubt he even fully understands calc himself. A wanna be motivational speaker yet his analogies make absolutely no sense. He sh*ts on people in class, which is actually hilarious until its you. He's lucky the ap test has a big curve. He persuades unqualified students to take calc, and complains about their skills. Don't bother w/ homework.

hes a funny guy but he goes on to many rants about life, if you want a math class where you can sleep and do nothing this is not the guy because he will pick on you until you are forced to try. also if youre latino or are on the soccer team you will get a higher grade and he will like you because you speak spanish with him, Cand Change But Can Control, CCBCC, on his ceiling

I have had lopez for a semester and a half and honestly, his way of teaching might be a little weird but if you pay attention and see where he comes from, it's very easy. Might be hard to catch on at first but thats only bc he wants to show you were the math comes from. but if you're not latino, youre screwed. personally, i have had a great experience with this teacher. Mr. Lopez doesn't seem like he knows what he is doing in class most of the time. he has gotten many things wrong when showing the class problems and has weird ways of teaching that no one understands. most of his class(es) fail the tests but it doesn't seem to phase him at all. he is not a good teacher and if you get him as your teacher, switch out immediately before he can do anything to your GPA

Lopez is a strange teacher. He doesn't really do the best at explaining things, usually because he does things in a weird way. Seems like everyone does bad on tests, and he has said that he makes tests really difficult on purpose, and sometimes knows that most of the class might do bad. He always likes to be right which can be annoying. He does like to help you understand things better. But he is a really cool and funny guy, it's a pretty fun class to be in. But... you might fail.

I go back and forth debating whether or not I love or hate him. His class is challenging, he's a little eccentric, and his teaching is unorthodox. Regardless, he's a good dude and hopes for the best as far as how his students perform in future math curriculum.
