Ina is the worst teacher you will have for chemistry. She simply cannot teach. But she's really nice but it makes it hard to hate her. Drop the class if you see her name, you'll be happy.
While Mrs. Koppel is one of the nicest women on the planet, she cannot teach at all. She rambles on about the same one problem for half an hour, and then doesn't explain how to do the hard parts of the subject. I was one of the few kids with an A in the class, and that's only because I self taught most of the material out of the textbook. Luckily, if there is something you don't understand, she does actually know things, she just doesn't explain them to the class. Her grading scale is weird too.
Horrible teacher. Smiles and talks a lot, but is so boring everyone in the class is going to zone out. While trying to explain a problem in one of her packets, she ended up getting the wrong answer 4 times before one of the students gave her the correct answer. Doesn't bother teaching and expects the packets, which barely have any information, to teach the students. When she gives a test, she curves the grade by several letter grades because she knows she didn't teach anything, She's an airhead
Honestly one of the worst and most frustrating teacher I have ever worked with. Expect to be teaching yourself everything.
Mrs. Koppel has a kind soul and easygoing-nature. But, AP Chemistry is a rigorous course, and Mrs. Koppel would have been more useful as a chaperone for a kindergarten class than as an AP Chemistry teacher. Mrs. Koppel is enormously lacking as a teacher. Her monotone, pointless lectures put everyone to sleep; try as you may, but you leave her class confused and dimwitted. Labs and tests make up your entire grade. Bomb a test, which is inevitable, and your entire quarter grade is destroyed.
Calling her a bad teacher would be a lie because it would imply she teaches and her teaching is bad, when in actuality she doesn't teach. She gives packets and textbooks. Chemistry is already hard, but Koppel is so bad that she can even make budding Science majors rethink their collegiate studies.
I know she is really intelligent and smart, but I dont think she is good at teaching. She is also nice and sweet, but her class and exam are insane.
If you see "Koppel" anywhere on your schedule, drop the class immediately.
Ask questions. She's a hard grader, and will often expect her students to teach themselves new concepts. She doesn't really teach, she tutors kids with questions. This class is difficult because of the critical class attendance, and because you need to spend actual time on the material, and be productive enough throughout the period to have enough time to return to what you don't understand.
Two of her AP Chemistry students told me taking this class was the "Worst decision of their lives."
She's nice but she's better of as a tutor rather than a school teacher.
She doesn't give us the info we need to pass (AP Chem)
AP Chemistry is HARD (face it). You don't put 2 hrs per day (forget about an A try passing with a D) You need to read the textbook thoroughly and learn how to solve each problem in textbook. I got an A in her APChem because I did not only the problems she assigned but all problems in the chapter. Every concept in the textbook problems shows up in the test, thats why the tests were a breeze. She's a nice lady and stays after SO make use of it!!! (I went from F on the 1st test to an A!!!)
Not the best teacher but very sweet and helpful
Very knowledgeable teacher, but as a chem student I felt at times we were taught as if we were the ap chem students. Very nice and laid back
shes expects you to do everything on your own, but she does give you one on one if you dont understand
She expects you to actually study on your own, so that's why it's kind of confusing. Also, it's really easy to zone out in her class, making things more difficult, but she gives SO MANY curved grades!
The problem is most people just don't care and no teacher can teach Highschool Chemistry. But she does one thing I hate and that is count you missing class if you skip her LS, so dumb
Bad for teaching a whole class, but good for some one on one tutoring stuff
Very nice person, but bad teacher. I really tried, but I didn't learn anything in chemistry. She knows what she's talking about, but doesn't know how to explain it to people who don't. Hard class.
she's really cool if you get to know her. but alot of people think shes a bad teacher. but if you really want to learn the material she would help you out. you will have to do alot of figuring out.
Prepare yourself for the worst year of your science career. Very confusing, very weird, and very boaring
Apparently she's great at teaching AP Chem, but if you're unlucky enough to be in her Honors Chem class I foresee many hours of paper football in your future.
she doesn't help u and when u ask her to do something she doesn't do it for you. this is a teacher you don't want for chemistry
I LOVE HER!!!! She is extremely down to earth and has a very large heart. Very smart and helps with science fair!!! I am totally getting a college rec from her!!!!!!
she may be a tough teacher but i enjoyed her class and she presented it in a clear fashion to me atleast. but i kno lots of poeple who though otherwise
aw i feel bad, shes really sweet, but her class really didnt make that much sense, and her lectures confuse me... shes not horrible tho.
She is very easy to deal with. A very generous person, Mr. you rock!!!
SHE IS A VERY CONSIDERATE PERSON AND VERY EASY TO APPROACH. SHE IS INTELLIGENT AND SHOULD TEACH IN COLLEGE. YOU ROCK MRS. KOPPEL!!
She's nice and her class is easy, but her lecture is confusing and doesn't make any sense, she acts like we're AP chem students
Here's an idea, when you give us the final exam, make it about stuff we learned over the year!
she's an awesome person but cant teach high school... she should try college, she has increduble genius... much to smart for me!
She's ok..but I slept in that class. plus teaching the first section of each unit is what is really the problem. the "spiral method" should be thrown out
mrs kopple is a great teacher she is always there when someone needs help
Teaches like a colledge professor, but I think she means well.
