04/03/14 - Goodman is a very sweet person, and clearly knows what she is talking about. But she does not provide necessary resources. Her tests are unpredicatable, she provides no topics list, and her lectures are all over the place. Good person, bad teacher Show More Show Less
01/03/14 - You get out what you put in here. I was in her class two years and was editor for Exposition (Social Studies mag, does it still exist). Plays favorites? Yeah, probably, but what she cares most about is seeing students trying to really absorb the material and connect the dots. She used film more effectively than any teacher I have ever seen. I learned more about how to think in her class than in four years of college. Show More Show Less
07/08/13 - goodman is definitely a sweetheart teacher and all this nonsense about her being racist or sexist or whatever is completely untrue. im an asian male and she treated with me the same respect as any other white person there. she rambles A LOT so be prepared for a very unstructured lecture. her tests are hard but there is always a generous curve. how to pass goodman's class= raise your hand once a day, play on your phone to pass time quickly, write great essays= 93 Show More Show Less
07/05/13 - If there is one word that describes Ms. Goodman, it is knowledgeable. She knows AP European History front and back. She knows so much information and can recall so many dates and events. She has taught this course many years and treats her students like adults. I highly recommend doing the nightly readings and outlining chapters. Her tests are difficult, but if you study a lot, you will do well. By the end,you will be in great shape for the AP. She really cares about her students! Show More Show Less
06/18/13 - Ms. Goodman was one of the best teachers that I have ever had. The class felt like a college course and she treated us like adults. I feel like I've learned more about writing from her than most of my English teachers combined. She is a generous grader and has her student's best interests at heart. Show More Show Less
05/15/13 - People tend not to like her as they start her class (I'm talking about Euro here), especially because of the hard tests, but those are exactly the kind of stuff you'll see on the AP. She's -very- generous with curves, too. A 65% earns you a B most of the time. She teaches well if you bother to pay attention and is actually a pretty funny person. She grades writing fairly. If she's your new teacher, don't worry. Put in the effort to do well and you'll walk away with an A and a well-liked teacher. Show More Show Less
Well, everyone said she's a by-the-book teacher. No textbooks yet in Art History, so for once she has to design the lessons herself. What a disaster. Her powerpoints are just pictures. You could at least write something down instead of blabbing about it and putting half the class to sleep.
No textbook = she has no clue how to give homework. 1 month in and NOBODY has a grade yet. Absolutely awful. Didn't even take the time to introduce herself on the first day. Show More Show Less
