Mr. Dongas’ class gave me knowledge of humanities and the readings he taught are still some of my favorites of all time. He encouraged us to question and evaluate our beliefs. He used history and philosophy in our discussions and tied in current events to convey the material. He expected students’ dedication to the vocabulary and texts without menial exercises taking up class time. He was one of the best teachers I have had, and I am sorry to hear that more students won’t have his class.
I wish i could have told him but Mr.Dongas has been one of the few teachers who has ever actually had a lasting impact on my life . With his hilarious and vivid descriptions of what hes gone through, he made an effort EVERY single day in class to try to relate to his students . He made learning english Fun and easy even in the subjects that were difficult to teach . The fact that he was fired/suspended is the fault of a corrupted cps system . We need more teachers like Mr.Dongas . #freedongas
He is the best!! If anyone could just tell me what was the name of his book he used to give word tests on in english II! Loved that book!
Gets off topic VERY easily, but he teaches students so that they can understand the material. Goes too easy on the ghetto hood rats that interrupt class every five seconds. Ratchet class overall, someone once threw a glass bottle out the window.
Mr. Dongas is honestly the best English teacher I've had. He teaches you more than you could expect. He has too much wisdom to share and doesn't hesitate to share it. He's just one of those teachers that you could look back 20 years from now and know he taught you more than just pointless short stories but in depth explanations of the actual world we live in. Definitely the best teacher of my Sophmore year and made Ms. Hanly look like she should have taught another subject last year.
i don't really know what to say about Dongas. He has a lot of opinions on a lot things. He's very smart. He's knows a lot of stuff that you wouldn't expect most people to know. His vocabulary tests were super easy if you did the necessary prep needed. Overall, I think he's a pretty decent teacher.
i had him my senior year for humanities in 08. he was an ok teacher. he can be very condescending at times..
he is a dope teacher you learn and you have fun in his class he is a very funny and energinic he is a very good teacher he is so cool
Mr. Dongas is one of the most memorable teachers I've ever had. I love the emphasis he puts on debate within his class. In short...he's awesome.
Greatest teacher for American Lit. =D Makes the class really interesting and I am never ever bored in that class.
Three words: best teacher everrr(: no lie. I love his class, probs the only one i dooo:P. Nahh, but this kidd riqht here is muy muy intelliqenttt
i love this teacher!!! he is the best i had him for american lit and he really smart and just has very interesting opinions that i never really thought about makes you think and I love that about him
A very intersting teacher! While he is very, very easy to bs of your intellegence, he never fails to amuse me! He tends to get a bit rapped up in his intelligence and opinions. Participation is key!
I'm glad he didn't become an artist! Neither did I. Yes, I went to school with Mr. Dongas. I hate these things. My husband teaches college humanities. Mr. Donas is doing you kids a favor.
Amazing teacher, I have him this year for senior year and he did a great job!! Keep up the excellent work! THe essays we right are great at devloping my writting skills and research skills. Plus hes Greek which is even better! Afharisto! One of the best teachers at Lane, hands down!.
Mr. Dongas is sooo great! He challenges us to think without giving lots of busywork. He treats us like adults and always bring up interesting topics to discuss. I hope my college teachers are like him! Take his Humanities class and you won't regret it!
Ugh. Dongas it's called AMERICAN LIT teach us something about it, and enough with the Vocab! Also your not as smart as you think. I know how hard you try to make it seem like you are.
Humanities!..dont take it..he is very condesending and overly macho, he thinks a woman's place is in the home!...and his class is boring, he wants you to talk but when you do he shoots you down and talks over you!!!
I took him last year and now I'm in college. Read the complainer about how his class only is based on 2 tests- get used to it bud. What you do is study.
cant say much about his teaching. hes my division teacher, and let me tell you, he's barely there, but awesome none the less
well, since we have a stu. teacher right now, i don't really know mr.d, but when we read "taming of..." he seemed really cool and into his job.
Mr. Dongas makes class interesting. Hamlet with him was awesome, especially when he read to us.
I disagree with his method of teaching. He is cool and funny, but he depends on tests. What if you're not a good test-taker,and you're a senior and you fail?
