This is a review for Math3Enhanced. I would *not* suggest this class unless you have the "low-key prerequisite" of being able to pick up pre-calc concepts in a snap. There are many tests in the second semester, and often many students score very poor. This class is far from eazy-breezy. Beware of pop-quizzes as well! The teacher is not very clear in class and outside of class many many students are confused as well before school of the tests that it is hard to get clarifications.
He is one of the worst math teachers I've had. I've done well in every math class other than this one because he simply can't teach well. He flies through the material without checking for understanding and makes his tests hard. Spends too much time telling stories and not actually teaching. Unless you have a tutor or can teach yourself calculus, you will most likely struggle.
He gives a crazy amount of homework. i had always been a great student in math until i had him for trig/precalc. i had to get a tutor and she agreed with me on his amount of homework. Also, he went super fast in his lectures and I raised my hand very often to ask questions, but he usually seemed really annoyed and gave super fast answers and didn't check to see if i understood. A
never had so much homework in my life, its EVERY night, on weekends, and even before tests!! And they are not easy problems, between 20-40. He has never ever not given homework. ever. And the tests! I can't even tell you. The day before a test, he'll teach you something from a completely different chapter. if you ask for help after class, sometimes he acts like he doesn't want you there. its hard to stay awake during his lectures, and i dont understand 70 percent of what is said.
worse experience in high school. he can be a nice guy and helpful but it was a struggle for me all year with his overall lack of instruction. too much storytime and yelling at students. did well in all my math classes except this one. tests are difficult and do not always reflect the material learned.
Really cool, will spend all of the time in the world to help you if you ask him. However, he has difficulty teaching certain topics; he definately knows what they are, but you have to actively pay attention and do the homework to do well. If you copy you will probably have trouble.
Mr. May is a cool guy but a not a good teacher. He has great stories, but tries to be a kid too much by joking around with the class. His tests are very hard, and he is not knowledgable whatsoever.
Great guy, but can't teach. my only b's in highschool have been from him
I love Mr may he was one of my favorite teachers ever
good guy but cant teach to save his life. ruined my gpa. if i dont go to a good college its his fault! i had him twice and both years i did miserably in math and the other years i did well... :/
he is a great guy but not so great a teacher. he doesn't answer questions well and thouroughly and he makes it seem boring. his stories are amusing. oh and also his tests are harshly graded and unfair
He's a nice teacher, although his lectures seem to be boring; he should try to make math more fun instead of more boring. He does tell funny stories thought :)
He does not know how to teach Trigonometry. He is funny, though
Ive had him for 2 years in a row...He is an awesome teacher...His oregon stories rock
Honest to god, this man is an EXCELLENT teacher. You better pray to god you get him!!!!
is usualy nice, but he makes hard tests and doesnt allways help me
he is kind of a geek...but luckily his goofy stories take up like half the period
Cool teacher but his stories still ponder me since i dont get them.
he always says EXCUSE ME! I like his stories that he tells about him growing up in Oregon.
He is nice and i like his stories! they take away from boring algebra II,and thats a good thing, he should give easier extra credit though! hardest math teacher
Dude, it's Mr. May, come on. Who else can make math interesting by telling stories of Oregon?
