Excellent teacher and wonderful band and musical director. There is no doubting his skill. What I do take issue with is the quick and spiteful way he'll turn on you if you don't bow to his whim and don't do what he wants you to. Is willing to throw years of good times and relationships down the drain in a heartbeat on what appears to be an ego trip and then won't sit down to talk with you so that you don't walk away with that impression of him. I warn people who'll have contact with him to beware. No trust.
I didn't care much for his class, but then I'm not very much musically inclined. However, as a person, he's awesome. Definitely glad to have him as an advisor, he's awesome. He does a brilliant job with the band (don't complain you guys, I've heard how you sound before he gets on your case - you need it!), he's very intelligent, and he's great to just have a conversation with. And Music is definitely the better half of Art/Music History.
ABSOLUTE COOLEST teacher ever. Excellent Band Conductor and great man!
Arbitrary grading as a computer teacher. Interesting music teacher. Passionate, informative. A good example of the importance of the Arts.
He really knows his subject, much better music teacher than computer teacher. Very nice guy, got me to appreciate some new aspects of music through his course.
Good guy overall, but if you're not musically inclined, then you won't enjoy his class. Very boring class, but very intelligent and cool guy out of class.
uh he can be okay sometimes, others hes just not cool. he doesnt give quizzes if we dont want them, and thats pretty much it. he can be mean when hes doin plays
Nice guy, but do we really learn anything in music? Maybe... and quizzes are not enjoyable. Neither are spontaneous essays.
Phillips is an awesome guy, and we don't even go to Regis. He's harsh on the orchestra and singers, but in the end we improve.
