Dr. Scanlon is one of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. As a student in the class of 1990, Dr. Scanlon was an innovative mentor, teacher and friend. Decades later, not only did he remember me, but he remembered my family, where we lived and what we had been up to since we last spoke. As a parent now, I am honored to entrust my sons to his instruction and simply expose them to him as a person. There are VERY people in this world as special as Dr. Scanlon.

James Scanlon was my 1E homeroom teacher ("1E for Excellence"). I reflect back often how much this man had a positive influence on my life. Did not appreciate it as much at the time, but realize it today. After all, it was the late 60's! Great person. Always handled himself with dignity. Excellent teacher.
