I think she is just too smart to go at her students' pace. Skips steps and is sometimes hard to follow, but she will try to help if you ask. Kinda monotone though, hard to concentrate on her lectures.
Pettibon is a bad teacher and the class ends up being much tougher than it has to be. She does pick favorites but being her favorite gives you no distinct advantage. Looks younger than she is ;)
Foggy in class but a real help on the side. You might get lost when she instructs, but if you ask her questions, it makes the class a breeze.
She always seems mad at the world when she comes into class. So that basicly sets the tone for how she teaches. If you ask a question half the time she ridicules you for not understanding the material
She seems to spend a lot of time on the easy stuff, and little time on the hard stuff, but she is very helpful one-on-one.
Had her 15 years ago for Calculus. I don't know if she was hard or if it was the class. Good teacher nonetheless.
I got A's in calc and I got at least 20 minutes of sleep everyday in this class. If nothing else, I always caught up on my sleep in this class. No hw or studyin
