Mrs. Vallone was my absolute favorite teacher in high school. I loved her and she loved her students. She is sweet and friendly on the one hand, knowledgeable and no-nonsense on the other hand. You just show her you care about her subject and she will take wonderful care of you. I miss her sooooo much!

my ap book was a better teacher than mrs vallone. that said, she's actually nice, but whiny..sort of like a teenage girl.

If you put effort into the assignments and don't cop an attitude with her, she will love you. And if she loves you, you're set. She can be very sensitive, but she's also nice, funny, and has genuine interest and concern for her students.

‘Teacher’ is a misnomer. Grades? Teaching? Did I miss something here…? We’re all pretty well screwed for the AP, IMHO.

example of bad teaching: "When I read The Scarlet Letter, I was so bored I just wanted to slit my wrists!" Ummm, thanx, now I'm REALLY motivated to read it.

Her class was easy- too easy. Not enough essays. If you REALLY want to learn history, switch to a more rigorous Hum.

Can't teach. Doesn't know material. Grades arbitrarily. Seems nice, but has a heart of coal. Treats students poorly.

Condescing, immature and very, very pretentious (intolerant and irratable but acts like she's a nice person). Also she never teaches - she has us teach each other the material so we don't know it on the unit test. Did I mention she's pretentious?

Teaching is nonexistent, but worse is her condescending attitude. Maeda/Vallone is reputedly not the worst junior Hum, but I find that hard to believe.

She's a nice person, but can seem condescending. She really knows history, so I would like it if she taught more, rather than assigning textbook readings.
