Many students may not see the point of such a strong emphasis on history day. But ms. omura means well! :) she DOES care about students and you have to admit she is knowledgable in her content area.
She does too much stuff and should drop some things so she can get organized. She's an OK teacher but doesn't seem to explain very well.
While a great PAAC and Interact adviser, she isn't such a great teacher. She has her favorites, that's for sure--and they tend to be male. I don't like her teaching style, as she doesn't really teach, but hands out worksheets. Her lectures are straight read-offs from the text book. The material never stays with you past the test, and her projects are pointless. Obsessed with History Day. If you really enjoy History Day, you might like her class. Otherwise, get World History with Miyasaki.
She needs to be more organized and think about her students more often. She never explains anything and upsets her students. Her class in unfair to the students who work for their grade, because she gives good grades to the students she knows are smart, but dont do any work. She doesnt care about her classes and is unfair to her AP class as well.
Although I really don't like her, I must admit that she is a good teacher. Except for the fact that she is extremely obsessed with History Day. Eew... I still have nightmares... XD
