Teaching method confusing- he showed each problem, working backward to the concept, but didn't show the general steps or instructions for problems. He didn't define underlying pattern, so difficult to transfer the knowledge to another problem. Studying, tutoring did NOT produce mastery. Pre-calc important GPA, ACT, SAT scores,Calculus, college options- academic confidence. He blamed student's failing grades on poor study habits- NOT the case 4 us. Nice guy, but teaching method needs improvement.
He is great teacher who explains math problems well
Great guy and fun class.
Katz is such an amazing teacher, I just wish he taught AP Calc as well.

Great guy. Destroyed my sons self-esteem lol ;) - Denise N
One of the best teachers I have ever. His lectures are so easy to understand and he really prepares students well for future math courses by making sure they have a good grasp on pre-calculus. Besides being a great teacher he is a great guy and it's very easy to develop a strong student/teacher bond with him. With exception to Mr. Hering he's easily the best math teacher at Hopkins High School.
Buzz lightyear to the rescue! To infinity and beyond!
Very helpful teacher, structured the class to allow lots of practice and corrections. Very approachable when explanations needed.
his teaching style: show a problem on a board and say " thirty seconds go." then yell at everyone that they are not smart enough to do it. I droped the class because of him
KATZ rocks, dosen't know how to teach jack, but nobody does in the math and science departments at HHS. Cool guy though he passed me when I was failing. If you have him get to know him because he rock
Most rockin' teacher ever!! It's great to wait for what he will say next, its always hilarious!!!
Great in the classroom and on the baseball field as a coach!
He was fun in class. He's not afraid to admit when he made a mistake. You can't go wrong with "Katz" as your teacher!
