Mr. Radmer does have a very deep knowledge of Chemistry. However, I don't think he knows if he's teaching Chemistry or AP Chemistry. He's really unclear in class and doesn't teach us the subject matter at our appropriate level. If you ask him questions he may sometimes help you out, but he would mainly not answer them or make it very confusing (I would just ask another Chemistry teacher to help you out). Don't even get me started on his tests which are way beyond our level of understanding.

He is a very cool guy, treats the class fairly and makes jokes. His test are very confusing, and I find that my old teacher taught me a lot more about chemistry than Mr. Radmer does. It feels like he treats his regular chemistry class like it's an AP chemistry class. The class has now become way too fast for me and I feel like I'm not learning anything.

In the past couple of months that he's been our long term sub he's easily become the worst teacher I'ver ever had. My grade is dropping and I've gone from easily understanding everything to not being able to even grasp the simple concepts. Super unhelpful when you asked him questions and also never tells us when anything is due or what will be on tests. His tests are also super confusing and nothing like the practice we do in class. No one understands what they're doing due to his awful teaching

He showed up as a long term sub for our teacher who left for her child. Since he started "teaching" us, we have had a very lax class. Classroom time is almost exclusively labs, which means no lectures to explain what's going on, followed by worksheets due the next week. We then have tests where our only study material is the worksheets he gave us, he refuses to stay after and help us, because "the school district doesn't pay me to do that". Grades across all periods dropped since he showed up.

Radmer is fine, he has a tendency to drift off from Chemistry to US History a lot; guess you can get 2 classes done in one? He mostly gives lectures once a while, so you have to pay attention (just like in college), he doesn't repeat the same thing over and over again. It is AP class after-all... He does help you out if you ask though.

Not a very good teacher. He's got great knowledge of the subject but he just can't teach it and he can be pretty rude sometimes too.

Radmer was this worst teacher I ever had. I had his AP Chem class and he did not teach me a single thing. I got an A in the class, but a two on the exam. He does not know what he is talking about.

If you're rude to him or he thinks you're stupid you get what's coming, but when you get used to him he's funny and a decent teacher.

had him for ap chem and didn't learn a thing. he doesn't teach! often can't do the problems himself, hardly ever lectures, and gives a bunch of enigmatic homework. also doesn't tell you when tests are coming up or, for that matter, what is on them. i don't think i'll pass the exam and i know this class was one of the most frustrating in my high school career!

This guy might possible be the worst teacher i have ever had. If you are not the smartest kid in the class he will ignore you and not answer your questions. i have never had a teacher who teaches me absolutely nothing, which he did. I can go on and on about how bad of a teacher this guy is. I have never been so mad to go in to a class. Doesnt make anything clear, expects you to know everything already. i absoluetly hate him as a person and as a teacher. every one switch his class, worst teacher ever!!!!!!!!

For AP chem, he's great. somehow he equates mental intelligence with responsibility. therefore, he's pretty laid back and fun...but class is a huge work load, not really hard though

Radmer's class is way easier and more helpful than most people give him credit for. If you listen and do your reading, there's nothing to it. All the material is readily available. The only people he's rude to are stupid because there's no excuse for not understanding the material. He's nice to you if you are responsible and treat him with respect.

Oh man... hilarious teacher. Knows his stuff in chemistry. Entertaining and keeps his class interesting. Knows "crowd control" methods to silence a rowdy class. Sweet demonstrations, and he explains the material well. He's a pyromaniac!!! He will not hesitate to laugh at you if you're incompetent, so do try to avoid that. Also watch the year-end final, it's a killer. 80 questions, it's so hard that a score of 50 is a 100%. Enjoy! Sincerely, the student who got 72/50 on the Radmer final. Heh =P

Loves to insult your intelligence, can be very rude, very full of himself and proud that he's (obviously!) SO much smarter than anyone else. Answers your questions with more questions or simply laughs at your "dumb" question and walks away without helping you. The class in general is the most difficult class I've ever taken and Mr. Radmer is definately the worst teacher I've ever had. Too bad the limit on this rating is 512 characters, I could go on and on about how bad he is!! RADMER IS THE WORST!!

If you are pleasant to Jay Radmer, Jay Radmer will be more than helpful to you. If you are rude to him, you will get what is coming to you. His class was wonderful. It is hard, but the textbook we had was great, he knows what he is doing, and if you listen and read instructions, you will be fine. Chemistry is hard, but this guy knows what he's doing. His demonstrations rock!
