I really liked Mrs. Chufo and would totally recommend her as a teacher. She teaches us how to write, how to correctly annotate, and prepares us for the future.
She is ok but she gets too distracted
I took creative writing class but the homework load was definitely not that of an elective. Sometimes i find myself walking more hours on a writing assignment for an elective than i do for Alg/Trig H. Chufo is a nice teacher overall, but i really want to tell her ,please stop talking about your triplets. I really, really do not care about them. The cute thing they do? Sorry, nothing to do with me.
I've always disliked the teachers who expect their students to be interested in their daily life.
I was really disappointed with the amount of actual writing in Chufo's class. She spent way too long on the poetry unit and we only had a couple of writing assignments that did not help me be a better writer. Her class is seemingly easy, but she grades harshly on topics she barely teaches. Chufo is really funny and nice and therefore spends most of her class talking about her life or about future projects.
She is pretty confusing and doesn't teach much grammar or writing. Not the best teacher in the world. You're better off doing some English tutoring off-campus.
Though she emphasizes annotating and poetry, but she's an all around good teacher.
One of the absolute best teachers I've ever had. I took Creative Writing, and she is one of those few remarkable teachers who actually supports your creativity and has this amazing rule of "you can break the rules in assignments if you can defend the break." Count ourself lucky if you have her as a teacher!
Chufo is one of my favorite teachers- her insight on every book we read is a great learning tool. She sees students in a different way and does not treat them as inferiors like many teachers do. She is chill and relaxed and definitely the best english teacher you could have for honors 9. my only complaint is the number of graded assignments- It would be really nice if we had more things in the grade book, so our scores don't entirely count on only a few items. Thanks for being a great teacher.
Ms.Chufo is fabulous. The first day I walked into her class, I thought she was a bit loony, but looking bad she has stretched my mind and helped me in ways I didn't think were possible. Yes, she did BS some of the grading on the essays, but I'm not complaining! She has an ENORMOUS portion on her plate with triplets, the Nest, and her son's amputation, but she does the best she can. She's amazing at peeling layers of a book and making others understand the deeper aspects of literature.
easily one of the worst teachers at cca. shows too much favoritism, gets nothing done, blames those that do work
I had Chufo for English Honors 9 as well as the Business Management class and I really respect her. Though we've disagreed on some things, what I really about Chufo is that she treats her students as equals. She puts so much effort into her teaching and you can really tell that teaching is more than just a way of making money for her. She's hard working and I would love to have her again. Go Chufo! - J.C.
She didn't read all the essays. It was ridiculous. She would take literally 3 months to grade the essay and then she wouldn't even read all of them. She was really really lazy on most of her grading. Her quizzes are really irritating and stupid. Usually I don't like kids who complain that the teacher gives them bad grades because she doesn't like them, but in this case it is really true. She only reads the essays from the students that she likes. Get on her good side if you want an A.
hands down favorite teacher I ever! She made english fun and when I was struggling she helped with ways to improve, she is so interesting too. I feel like shes my friend
Her creative writing class rules! She's surprising, motivational and just plain fun! The random-ness of everything that we did was awesome; I learned a lot!
She's never shown students her "bad" side. A great teacher, if you ask me.
Kinda eccentric, but that's what makes her super awesome as a person. And then she's a really good teacher, a bit difficult, but just try your hardest (STUDY!!!), she'll see it, and you'll do fine.
ok, so maybe the quizzes are a little random (very hit and miss for me) but overall she was a good teacher :) made english a fun experience
I had Chufo for reg Eng..and she was an AMAZIN teach..i mean ser i learned soo much in that class....it was not a very easy class but not soo hard to get an A..i stayed at a 96 the whole year..
Love her! She is a pretty good english teacher, as english teachers go, her class is soooooo much fun though(even though it is relatively hard), favorite class freshmen year, it was more like a family
Mrs. Chufo is an amazing teacher! English Honors with Mrs. Chufo was the best class that I have had in the past four years. To me, Mrs. Chufo wasn't just a teacher. She was a friend too.
I really, really liked Ms. Chufo! She is an amazing teacher and person, and every student grows during her class. Very fun, make sure you read because you have quizzes everday. Most people love her.
she was and still is my favorite teacher. not only do you learn a TON and improve your english skills in her class, but she makes every student feel like an important individual
Jeannie Chufo is a hard yet very helpful teacher. She is the kind of teacher that you learn a lot from, however she is very strict
she is strict, but i learned so much in her class. i found it extremely useful. she's an amazing teacher, one of the best ive had. shes one of those teachers that you either love or hate, i loved her.
I Love ms Chufo!!!! She's great if you are a motivated, hardworking student
are all of you guys serious? She is probably the worst teacher i've ever had. She is super hard and thinks she's really cool. she makes an ok joke every once and a while. very unprofessional.
Chufo was definitely the best teacher I've ever had. She's a bit hard and there was a lot of annotating but it was totally worth it because I learned a lot in the end. Plus, she is extremely hilarious
Sample quiz question: On page 114, what is the second letter of the 19th word on the page? totally irrelevant tests and quizzes...
Awesome! She is really cool and nice, just do the work!
As honors goes, the class isn't that hard, just a lot of work involved. Try not to space out no matter how excruciating cause you miss very important random details. She is funny, sometimes forgetful.
i disliked her during the year when we had to annotate books like there's no tomorrow.but at the end of the year i realized i learned a lot. she is a great teacher. but the quizzes are intense. study!
i just finished her class... its really easy but again her quizzes are soo wierd... she asks you the randomest questions on the quizzes
shes a really cool and probably one of the best english teachers I've ever had. I learned alot from her and she really got me to like books the books we read. Her quizzes are hard though
she's a really cool teacher but her quizzes are extremely random. and her class is not easy at all
takin her class rite now and i think that from all of the English teachers ive had, shes VERY easy.BUt her quizzes are very random.and when she tells you that the quiz is on something its alwz on more
I did not like Chufo. We had quizzes almost everyday and she gave me zeros on three assignments I did. I think she missed them
I love Ms. Chufo. She's a really great English teacher and she makes learning fun!
ms chufo is a great teacher she really makes english fun! yes she does give you random tests guys remember what the word heinous means and how to spell it.. it's VERY important cause it's on every tes
she doesn't seem to care about about her students, and gives quizzes on material that is both irrevalent and insignificant. I thinks she's pretty smart though, bu she seems to be all too aware of it.
Her class is ultra excrutiatingly boring, but she's not too hard
Well, apart from her name being incorrectly spelled, as well as the school name; she is a great teacher, one who does not mess around, but instead actually moves ahead.
She is really nice. She also actually knows what she is talking about. She has really interesting and useful explanations to things we learn.
