Mr. Slepak is a great teacher! Though he may be strict, he wants every student to learn from their mistakes instead of continuously repeating them. He's really helpful too; if you have a question he's more than happy to answer it. He knows a lot about the music we play in class which is also nice because then we get some background info which is cool. Don't get on his bad side though. But if you just listen to him and pay attention you will love having Slepak as one of the band directors!!!!! :)
Great teacher. The best I've had in YEARS!!! He can be tough on people during class but if you talk to him outside of class or see him around the neighborhood, he is awesome and amazing!!!
Slepak is a great band teacher. Just make sure you know your scales and are prepared to be called on in class.
He's one of the greatest teacher's I ever had! My advice, work hard to earn his respect. That's the only way for him to like you. He was the reason why I'm going into Music Education.
Great teacher! Many people think that he favors honor band and that he is just mean, but that is not true. He is very informative, funny and really a great guy. When you say he is mean, think about how you would be if you had to direct 350 students.
The best teacher i've ever had. He has inspiered me so much that I actually want to be a band director at stevenson as well.
People think he favors honor band over everyone else, but in reality, he has to take care of over 350 students. I think that for such an overwhelming number, he does a great job. If you talk to him personally, he is very nice, though he may seem very strict in front of a big group, so that he could get everything under control. He is a great teacher.
Really mean. Picks favorites. Hates every band other than honor band.
i hate him....he's constantly yelling and making fun of people in the class...i kno he means well, but he fails at being nice....
disrespectful, unforgiving, picks favorites, perfectionist, only loves his "honor" band
he lectures tooo long in class...he screams a lot and makes people want to quit. he tells people that they are bad and they should quit. he makes band less fun than it auctually is
He had a reputation for being mean but he has to be strict to control the 350 people in the band. Overall, he is a goodnatured guy and, I think, a great teacher, but, don't be the goof-off in his class or your find your self in trouble.
I don't know him that well, only from summer band camp, so far, but he's a total perfectionist but he has two sides, really nice and really mean, gives really odd corrections on marching.
ummm I do have to say that he is a perfectionist but that is good because he makes all his bands sound realllllly good.
very nice guy, good teacher, but don't make him angry. just do what you're supposed to and PRACTICE
Good director, plays favorites, VERY short tempered. When he's angry, he sometimes "explodes". Sometimes he's nice and sometimes he's not.
he's so cool and really helpful. One of the nicest teachers at Stevenson. you're great Mr. Slepak!
He's a great guy with a lot of experience in his work, and I appreciate his attention to detail in marching band and in class. Be prepared to work hard and be pushed to be a great musician when you work with him.
He's a really good band director, but he has a bad temper.
Mr. Slepak is insane. I enjoy the music he picks for concerts, and the marching music is fun. He is energetic, but powerful- watch out for that-, and wants the best for your musicianship.
slepak is.....nice...if you dont do something stupid. MB is painful because he is obsessed with perfection, but it does look good when its done, so all in all, hes a good guy.
Strict, and picky, especially when it comes to marching band, but helpful and a skilled at his job too. He just seems to go a little overboard sometimes when he's frustrated.
He's a very good teacher, very hardworking. Just don't get on his bad side and you'll be fine. Do everything he asks and don't break the rules! And he is controlling 300+ of us.
He's a nice guy. Follow the rules and you will be fine.
Deep down, he's a good guy. Really just wants to make you the best musician you can be. He pushes you to the limit and farther. Best teacher I've ever had.
What is there to say? He manages a chokehold on three hundred kids, knows every one by name, and puts forth more effort than any teacher I've ever had.
Jeff Slepak is an institution. I'll never forget him.
I honestly hated Slepak when I was still in school w/him. But, since I graduated I have seen him a few times and he's different. He's REALLY nice in reality.
It awful when he doesn't like you. I did enjoy it tho, whenever he would yell at the lame colorguard.
definitely has a love of music and a love of teaching. works harder than most teachers i know. i have great respect for him.
Really knows what he's doing, and makes the bands sound good!
i love mr. slepak. he is one of the most talented directors ever and he is really nice when you get to know him. he is only mean when we deserve it.
very kind hearted. only is rough when people deserve it.
Great director.... there shouldnt be any concern for Color Guard since he is a band director.
He knows what he's talking about, but don't tick him off or he'll hate the whole band for the rest of the day. and you for a week.
hey, mr. slepak has his negatives(he really knows how to kill someone's love of music) but he really just wants to be your friend when it comes down to it...he just doesn't really know how to connect to people.
