Principal Yost was the perfect leader for Woodson while he was there. He cared for the students, the staff and the parents. EVERYONE oved Mr. Yost and I know he loved them in return. Wherever he goes caring, compassion and positivity will follow.
People like him because he is a politician; he is friendly and will shake your hand, but he is not a leader. Under his administration, the school has lost prestige and stature. His idea of combating suicide is by giving kids cookies
The gold standard for all teachers and principals. This man genuinely cares. He gave me a chance to turn things around instead of pushing me off, and I did. I'll always remember you Mr. Yost, thank you greatly.
He let the swim team push him into the pool when they won districts.
Mr. Yost is a far better principal, for Woodson, than most. Unfortunately, the FCPS administration hierarchy within schools is far too top heavy, which results in "not-my-job" as standard rhetoric. Any complaint to FCPS is answered with, "oh, you are the only person who has ever had a complaint about that ..." They belittle on purpose. Few FCPS administrators hold any real stature in the field of education, none nationally. For a world-class school system, we have a lot of average joes.
Such a cool principal. Contrasts with the extremely strict administrators. Chill and friendly and seems to know everyone around.
Say what you want, but he's the best principal I've ever had. He's so chill too. A teacher sent me to the office once, and he asked me what happened. I told him, and then said that it really wasn't a big deal (it really wasn'
His problem is that he seems to want to be popular, but not to lead. Making Woodson be a successful place as well as a fun place is not his strong suit.
I like Mr. Yost. It seems like he knows almost everyone in the school and he always tries to make things fun. But I do not like some of the uneducated teachers he has hired. They are not good teachers.
Mr. Yost is amazing, he's not only a wonderful principal but an all around stand up guy. He cares so much about his school and its students.
He's sooo nice. One time I was stopped in the halls by an administrator but he intercepted and covered for me! Sweetest guy ever.
SEems like everyone thought he shoud be the principal, and now that he is despite some puppeting he's pretty great and still relatable.
Mr. Yost is awesome!! I love how he acts like he knows you personally even if he doesn't. It's so much more comfortable talking to him than say, Mr. Maher for example. Super nice and chill.
One of the very few administrators that seemed to really care about being an advocate for the students. Unfortunately, we lost him to the dark hold of a principal. He is policed by the system and dances like a puppet.
Great guy, he isn't the typical administrator who thinks their job is all professional, like their a CEO or something. Doesn't look down at kids, and treats us like human beings. Is very understanding.
he is the coolest administartor in school, chilliest guy ever and he cursed in front of me.
He's an awesome guy. He's active and is concerned for your well-being, plus, he's really nice.
Yosty with the mosty. This guy is amazing, and seriously did more for me than the principal or my counselor (Cohen and later Marshall) ever did.
Yost is awesome hope he stays at woodson forever- the only sane administrator
Mr Yost was a great teacher I had him the last year he taught, and I'm sure he's a great admin too
Yost needs to take Robbie J Elliott's position because he knows how to run a school
was in the band room almost as much as i was last year!
