Mr. C is a very knowledgeable and helpful teacher. Science uses laptops and he is very fair about using them and helps out students with issues with their technology. We do very fun labs, his class interesting, we collaborate, and made generators! He also runs the computer MOD club which is the greatest club at Frost.
I'm in his class right now, basically the whole class is doing whatever you want on the computer and then just filling in fake answers for the labs. Fun class until you don't know what to do
He was kinda of a #@$! to one of the students in our class. I would not recommend because he only likes the smart kids and does not help the dumb people. He just sits in his chair and mopes.
I have Mr. Cordary for Science 8 AA and in my opinion, he's a good teacher. He is knowledgeable, approachable, and nice, but his explanations were a little bit confusing. His stories are fun to listen to but off topic. Overall he's a good teacher.
Mr. Cordary taught one of my children who really enjoyed Mr. Cordary's class. Mr. Cordary is one of the best teachers at Frost, and Frost has excellent teachers. (Excellent Principal too, by the way (Eric McCann)).
Mr. Cordary is the sponsor for the school's Science Olympiad team. He puts in a lot of extra time on the Science Olympiad team simply because he cares for the students. If your child is applying to TJ, you want Mr. Cordary to write the recommendation.
I had Mr.Cordary this year, and overall I have to say he is a terrible teacher and a terrible person. He tries to act as if he is overqualified for his job, when in reality it seems as though he had no idea what he's talking about. He treats students poorly and will not hesitate to intentionally embarass you for his own enjoyment. Mr.Cordary ruined my 8th grade year and maybe my entire life. He is a poor role model and he is a poor man. He has a lack of self confidence, and It shows.
He always tells very off topic stories. He makes fun of students if they get an answer wrong or asks a question. He locks students out in the hallway if they are tardy. I never understand anything and he doesn't really teach us. He makes fun of other teachers. He makes fun of the students in the 7th grade (lower grade) and the students in the non advanced class (joking that he will quit if he has to teach them). He isn't a good teacher at all. I hope you don't get him.
Pretty nice is what I've seen.
His class is pretty easy, but the one thing I struggled with was that on tests, he'll put a question on there about a small detail that he mentioned only ONCE during note taking, and only tells HALF his classes to write it down, leaving most of us super confused come test time. The tests themselves were pretty easy, but I wish he would have told us when we needed to write down one of these little details that was on the test.
"Wait! Short Mr.C story!"
20 minutes later...
"Now get started on your work."
Reviewing this in late 2014: He's a good teacher, just somewhat stiff if you don't understand a concept (or ask a simple question). The tests are actually quite hard, since most of them are 50 questions and you have to do them in about 40 minutes. Overall knowledgable and at least tries to ease a laugh in you. Lots of pressure in his class, you make a small mistake it could possibly destroy your grade (for example labs and adjusting your goggles)...
He's really nice if you work hard and know your stuff.
I like him he is funny.
I enjoy his class, I really understand the things he teaches us and the work isn't too much if you actually manage your time. If you are a bad student he will probably not like you very much, and if you are, then good luck, you earned everything coming.
A pompous jerk, Mr. Cordary tells endless stories about stupid things that have no point. He sends students out for laughing, makes us copy down dumb notes, is so confusing. I learned nothing the entire year.
He's very smart, but he tells stories of his life to the point that we know more about his life than the science he teaches. He's told us about his pet dogs, his political views, his drill sergeant father, and once seeing 'a nun chug a beer'.
He is so annoying! He tells long random stories about irrelevant things like his childhood and war. He calls people names and sends people in the hall for no reason. Instead of teaching he makes us copy down confusing notes while talking nonstop about other things. He makes it hard for people to get help by mocking them when they ask questions and not posting things on blackboard. If you are in Mr. C's class, I wish you good luck.
Doesn't let you do things like pack up before the bell. All his stuff is like 20 years old. Makes you copy notes while he tells you stories about his life and his 400 dogs, which 95% are complete BS. Makes really stupid jokes. He starts a chapter one one day and has a test on it 5 days later. Gives a worksheet almost every day and expects you to know how to do it.
He was a great teacher! Sometimes the Tests were hard, but he pushed us a lot and it helped a lot for the SOL's and future classes. His MOD Club was amazing as well.
good teacher overall, tough course though. i was still a pretty good student so im ok. like i said, he is a great teacher, but has a course thats really hard to pass unless your a neat freak.
Far worse than Mrs. RB. It's not a hard class and you learn quite a lot actually, but the tests sometimes can have very obscure questions. All his materials are 12 years old and he doesn't actually teach in class he just goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with science and are about 90% lies.
he tells us stories every single day about his life and his problems, i think we could get alot more work done but he just keeps going and going and going and going kind of like this reveiw and he goes off onto these tangents that have absolutly NOTHING to do with teh topic
Mr. Cordary is an amazing teacher. He teaches us at an advanced higher paced level and expects us to do the work we don't understand at home, he also expects us to go further into the world of science than FCPS makes us to. He is a teacher you need to go above and beyond for.
LOVED CORDARY. I wish I still had him. :( Just do your homework, and you're fine..which most people don't do. He's an EXCELLENT teacher, as long as you pay attention in class. If you don't understand, just ask, and he'll explain. :) Don't be afraid to ask questions, like me, haha. And READ YOUR TEXTBOOKS. He doesn't assign pages, but it's EXPECTED. Or else you'll fail a few tests..*hint hint nudge nudge* Just work hard, and you'll be great!
He was the best teacher I ever had. Although he can be stick about assignments, his notes are clear, and he lets you use note cards on tests. He is also really funny
meh mean to some stufents- hard grader- okay teaching tho
Mr. C was my mentor and friend when he taught highschool. He is a tough teach and demands the highest of his students. Sgt Cyre USMC Semper FI
He really is a great teacher! You learn a lot in his class....the only problem is his tests are kind of hard and the interactive notebook is a pain. He went to the hospital this year:(hope he is okay!
I love his random stories except it's hard to take notes and listen at the same time...sometimes it gets really confusing but he's an aweasome teacher! also if you do all your hw you should have an A
Mr.c's class is rediculously easy. If you show genuine interest in what he is teaching, he will help you to no end. Just listen to his life stories and don't talk out, then you will glide by with an A
Pretty easy class. Half of the class is spent listening to his many stories. Kinda a weird teacher. dont be tardy ever.
His class is pretty easy, but he tells stories too much and doesn't explain science too much. Too strict on being tardy.
He tells weird stories and the class is challenging but students will be happy they had him when they go to high school. Info he teaches makes HS biology easy. Pay attention and it will help you later
Very good teacher, funny stores. Mr. C. will make going through high school science much easier.
no matter where u go to hs, mr. c is the best in getting u ready. his lessons on electricity and chemistry are really important, so hold onto ur notes. talked more about his personal life than science
I must say, this was my favorite class. Really. His stories are hilarious, and his class is pretty easy in general as long as you do the homeworks [which are pretty easy too].
All his storys are so exagerated, its funny. You will learn stuff in his class that will help you later though and make High School alot easier. At least his IANB's are better than the Roach's.
The tests are xtremely difficult and the lecture notes are very boring.
Mr. Cordary did a decent job of teaching. If you did most of the extra credits, paid attention in class, and did your homework, it was a pretty easy class.
This class is so easy except for test, and even on tests if you right real small the notecards totally help! That is, if you bother to make one!!! So he tells us stupid stories, he's a good teacher!
his class is pretty easy except the tests are really hard, and most of the questions were not on his notes or hints.
I don't understand!! Always implies wishes he didn't teach, and he never answers questions, only says, "try your best" or "it's in the directions! I just explained it!" And admits to having favorites.
Unapproachable & rigid! Mr. Cordary: be flexible & remember that these students are only 8th graders not college age! Parents: help child organize & KEEP EVERY paper from this class!!!
He's actually a pretty good teacher, his notes are good. But he's kind of weird with his Mr.C stories.
Look,u might hate Mr. Cordary and wante to burn his notes. I am at TJ and I have learned mostly everything from Mr. Cordary in regards to Chemistry and electricity/circuits. Keep your notes. Trust me!
he's not as bad as i thought he'd be. he's actually kind of funny
hes not so bad.i had him two years ago,let me tell you, ALL hs classes are more like his.he answers ?s if you ask them.do hw&corrections, what he says to do and youll be ok.he WANTS you to understand
once you get used to him its not that bad i think i actually learned a lot in science this year. his tests are hard but not impossible. study.
You guys are so dumb. Mr. Cordary is really cool. I like his stories and his jokes are awesomne. He really teaches well and his notes are not out-dated. He's a great teacher.
hes ok i guess, he likes to talk about sevies and his pointless stories r annoying, but hes pretty easy i guess
Cordary was one of those teachers who doesn't really teach. Helpful hint: pay attention when copying the (outdated) notes, especially the "sidenotes" he gives. Even the most useless side pieces of info are used as test questions. Cordary was an okay guy, but not the best teacher. Beware of corny jokes!
Mr. Cordary was... Well, he's ok, once you get to know him. And his stories don't annoy you as much, once you learn how to cope with them. He knows a lot about science, and the notes you have to take does help you a lot.
sometimes gives wrong info, needs to change his lesson plans from 10 years ago. it's a science class, we don't care about the toastermobile, ur kidney stones(eww), dogs, PS2, or the paintball team that went to nationals.
not a bad teacher... but he's pretty funny... helpful to hav his class 5th period so u hav more time on everything
Mr. Cordary could be an okay teacher if he spent more time helping us understand what we're learning instead of telling us about his kidney stones. We really really don't want to hear about them! EWW!
he makes you take notes about 3 pages a day- then he talks the whole time through it!! tellin " mr. C" stories..
He's pretty easy. Basically, all you have to do is turn in your homework and you'll at least get a B. Not very clear on some aspects, and his stories annoy me.
Dude! are all you guys no-brains? this guy's class is so darn easy! all you have do is to do exactly what he says to!
I hate to flame him but...OK not only is he REALLY annoying, he's a really BAD teacher. I didn't understand anything at all. All we did was take notes.
He knows science and... dogs.. (you'll see) Sometimes he suddenly switches to his "story mode" and it's either boring or far-fetched.
whoa, his classes are hard, but he's a nice guy people, preparing us for high school well -
fun because of the stories that he told us, but mostly we just copied notes while listening to him talk... two things at once, oie... but he's nice at least...
when I first was in Mr.C's class I hated his guts...and I still do.I wish he'd treat the class like an eigth grade class, not a post-grad. class for sci. majors
YOU PEOPLE ARE SO MEAN!!! Mr. Cordary is actually pretty nice! I don't know about you, but I don't mind his off-topic stories...less worktime!
Everybody seems to dislike Mr. Cordary, but I think he's a nice guy. He's strict with us, but he's only trying to get us into good habits for later on.
I really don't think that Mr. Cordary is that bad. At least he's treating us strictly and teaching us important material.
The guy's not well-liked, obviously, but I really think he's a sweet man. Those five-question quizzes are a pain in the rear, but I learned a lot in his class.
Warning: If you actually try to pay attention to his stories he will yell at you for looking at him instead of the notes on the board
Ugh! exactly. i hate the way he is always like blah blah ooh,my dog is hilarious!*hahaha!* just like u (person above me) ^ said, they are not funny, NO ONE LAUGHS.
