My son had Mrs. Buchanan a few years back. He had about 10 pages of homework every night and had no idea what any of it was about. Sometimes he'd come home crying because of how badly this woman treated him. She has no idea what she's doing as a teacher and should be fired. I'd say more but that about sums it up. She doesn't know what she's doing, she's incompetent, unresponsive, forgetful, and treats her students disgustingly.
Mrs. RB is a really good scientist, which gives her a lot of great reputation. However, she's not the best at teaching, but she still teaches good concepts, so don't complain about every single time you go to her class. She is very helpful after school.
Mrs. Roache/R-B is an alright teacher. She possesses the necessary science knowledge to teach the class and she is certainly enthusiastic. However, she tends to ramble when giving directions and it can cause confusion, along with just unspecific directions in general. I wouldn't really recommend her as the best science teacher, but if she cuts down her rambling and unnecessary enthusiasm of certain words, she'd become a better educator.
This was my favorite class in 7th grade. Mrs RB is an extremely nice and caring person. Don't let biased information get to you because most of the kids that hate her are not great students. If you're a good student, you have nothing to worry about in this class. My overall grade was an A- and I'm not the best student ever. Just have fun and actually work and you'll do fine. I met one of my best friends in this class, this class creates new friendships. Always remember, C-O-L-L-A-B-O-R-A-T-I-O-N
I LOVE MRS.R-B SO MUCH!! DON'T LISTEN TO ANY OF THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT HER BECAUSE SHE IS ACTUALLY THE BEST PERSON EVER. She really wants you to become as excited about science as she is, and she works so so hard to plan classes for you. She is extremely helpful when you need help, so do not be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Give her a chance, and you'll see that she's actually such a great person!!
Ok, so I had RB for 7th grade science, and to be honest it wasn't the best. She is a nice person, don't get me wrong, but honestly she doesnt teach very well, but seems like she knows her stuff. The worst part is that she expects the students to teach other students, but that doesn't work if the students don't know what the heck they're doing.
Mrs. RB is really caring and try's her best to teach and actually thinks she's teaching well, but the thoughts get mixed up in her head and come out wrong. She's a great person and cares about her students, but she's not the best teacher. I recomend asking lots of questions, even if they are irrelevant, that's how you get on her good side.
She's incredibly smart, and she's was also super nice when I saw her at afterschool. However in class, her knowledge somehow can't transfer to her teaching. She is confusing in class, gives out way too much homework, and uses an extreme amount of acronyms that I can't really remember. The study guide sheets that she gives out however, are pretty well laid out. Overall, she's not that great, but at least she tries to teach you something.
Very enthusiastic. She gives out a lot of busy work and acts like we are all kindergarteners. She has lost many a paper of mine. My advise? Be proactive, organized, and try to get on her list of "favorite students"
She seems like she knows a lot, and she does use textbooks, but she is confusing.
ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE. I LEARNED ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THE ENTIRE YEAR.
She's really nice, just really confusing.
Go on IG and look up @mrs_r_b_
She's ok... I mean she's kinda confusing a lot of times, but at least she'll answer your questions. And yeah, it's kinda annoying at the fact that she'll never check her email... She does use textbooks.
If there were negative numbers for Clarity, it would be her. Gives us a lab guide, we do about 7 pages. Doesn't teach you much, just gives useless worksheets, but expects you to know it all when you take the tests. Do independent research and learning, never take chances, and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ask when everything is due. Otherwise your seventh grade is going to be a living.....well...you know.
I'll just say this- the Voyagers team's high standards from Mr. Beekman and Ms. Pellack are dragged down by Mrs. R-B. I learned nothing from her, she assigns to much homework, and she has favorites. If you have her now, my advice would be to get on her good side NOW. When we got along all right, my grade was a straight 100%. When she stopped liking me, I had to struggle to keep a low A-.
Literally the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. Her class caused me so much stress because she assigns WAY too much work (just because we're AAP students doesn't mean we're miracle workers!), and I learned absolutely nothing for the whole year.
Horrible. I really think that she's a horrible candidate for the AAP team, because she leaves everything up to us. While independence is an important skill, it doesn't mean being left to your own devices to learn what you're supposed to be taught. She gives us so much work, but doesn't explain it a lot. We spend too much time on the Chesapeake Bay, and instead of teaching us, most of the time she sits behind that desk of hers and stays on the computer the whole time.
Ms. R.B. is probably the most caring teacher out of the Voyager team just because she really cares about us students. It may not seem like it, but she most definitely is. She is also very smart indeed! The only issue is that all of her outstanding knowledge is jumbled up and hard to understand. If she could connect to her students like Mr. Beekman does, then most people would think that she would be a great teacher overall. In short, Ms. R.B. is really great, but she needs to sort her thoughts
God, I had her like 5 years ago and she was like 80. How is she still teaching??? She's nice, but she assigns way too much work and doesn't really teach very well. She's also kind of insane and treats everyone like little kids.
Mrs RB is actually not that mean. She also does have a lot of knowledge. But she does a bad job at explaining literally everything we do in her class. She only yells on occasion. But the one confusing and sometimes disappointing thing is that she never tells us what she is and is not grading, so when kids put effort into something and she doesn't grade it, it is quite confusing. She makes up fake things like "RILA", "CERC", and "SWBAT". If she treated us as normal 7th graders, she'd be better.
Mrs. RB isn't such a bad teacher. In other words, she's not the best either. Expect plenty of Rila(Homework) from her every single day. Don't get on her nerve. Don't ever pretend to or even do something that LOOKS suspicious. That gets on her nerve. If you want her to respect you, make jokes, laugh, turn in homework, and answer her questions. Tests from her aren't hard, unless you fail to study anything. First semester is textbook chaos. Second semester is confusing homework, so be nice to her!
Mrs Rb is nice and deserves more respect... but
I think that she "teaches" useless stuff. I literally learned everything last year...maybe its the scienc edepartment's fault but still
I think she's nice, but I don't like her teaching still that much.
SHE DOESN'T GET ENOUGH RESPECT
KIDS SHE LOVES YOU
CAN YOU NOT SEE IT?
Lets just start it off this way. If you don't study, you get a decent grade. If you miss more than 10 (rila's) you get a B+. You MUST listen in class, smile at her, and act like you know what she's talking about, raise your hand and answer more than half of all the questions she asks to become her favorite. If you do something SLIGHTLY bad, She mocks you in front of the whole class... She isn't that nice, but do what she asks and if you don't understand go on Blackboard.
She can have favorites, but that is because some people put effort in her class, while others do not. She gives very few quizzes and/or tests and plenty of extra credit, so you'll have to try hard to actually fail her class. If a student puts effort in her class, he/she should be having over 100% in her class. With extra credit and easy homefun, there should be no excuse about getting an A in her class. She is a great teacher and hopefully she will continue as a part of Frost Science Department.
She's nice but extrey confusing and gives way to much "RILA" She also has to many acronyms
Mrs. R-B tells everyone that she will give us "No more than 30 minutes of homework a night", which obviously doesn't happen. But she tells us "No its not homework, but homefun" Mrs. R-B tells us about "SWBAT"s and "RILA"s, and how we should write them down. She might have her own dictionary of weird teacher words, and says them with enthusiasm. "Eeeeviiiddence". no body really understands her laughing in class, and I wish she could explain things better. She needs to learn to stop being crazy.
everyone says she's mean and hard, but she's actually good...
She's really nice! I mean like REALLY NICE. But sometimes she gives too much RILA.
I really liked her, I hope she is doing well its been a long time :)
Just do your RILA and you ill have no trouble :D
Also respect Mrs. RB she's a really nice teacher.
I really like her, she is really smart and nice. Do your RILA!
she literally doesn't say anything about the assignments and talks about the most random things and expects kids to know everything she has favorites and it's very hard to pass in her class almost every kid got an f in her class bc she teaches kids stupidity. someone needs to moniter her class room and see what she does
I can't believe this woman is still "teaching." My kids had her years ago. She's disorganized, plays favorites, & assigns pointless age-inappropriate assignments. Years later, they still talk about what a horrible experience her class was. She is the perfect example of why teacher tenure MUST go. It's hard to believe she is teaching a "gifted" science class. Someone needs to investigate what is really going on in her classroom.
Mrs. RB has zero tolerance for anyone. She has these made up words called "RILA" and "SWBAT" and no one ever knows what they mean. She is strict and wants everything done her way. She expects everybody to get her routine on the first day of school. She wont let you go to your locker and she has favorites
Best teacher ever, very smart and creative. Easy class that you will learn a lot in. Do the work and talk to her and tell her stories about nature and she will love you. Enjoy her before you have to go across the hall to hell aka Mr. Cordary
She seems very smart and wants to be helpful, but her ADHD kinda gets in the way and she explains thing in an extremely weird way that only she can understand. DO NOT SIT NEXT TO HER CRAYFISH TANK- IT SMELLS LIKE DEATH AND CRAP-FISH. 0/10 wudnt bang
She is so useless, like please teach kindergarden if you will treat us like stupid kids. And she is sooooo unclear and just gives you too much paper then gets mad as a bee. (which she acts like)
Mrs. RB is hard to understand at first, but once you get used to her she's really helpful, understanding, and just overall really nice. One of the best teachers I've had.
The best teacher in the school. She is knowledgeable and passionate. I lived through her class, and if you're a good student, you get good grades. Anybody who says otherwise were slackers who didn't work and didn't pay attention in class.
she is the best ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She has a very interesting teaching style. I don't understand it. I've heard one of her students say that she doesn't understand what teaching is. Others say that she can be nice and sweet, but she doesn't seem to have much mercy for forgetting or misplacing, although she does forget or lose some of her students' projects before, ironically. She is lenient and strict at the same time. She gives out a lot of homework and her instructions can be unclear. LIVING COLOR! x.x
:C Im not sure how to survive her. Shes REALY unclear and tells us to always look on Blackboard, but she never posts anything so she screws you.
Mrs RB is a very good teacher once you understand her teaching style her class is very easy her style is different from other teachers so some kids dont understand it She is nice and will always help students who are behind in class she gives 3 or 4 quizzes per quarter and if you study for them they are very simple I learned a lot from her class and if you dont understand something she will almost always explain it to you
very good teacher. once you start to understand her teaching style her class is relatively easy. Mrs RB is really nice to students and I learned a lot from her class
mrs rb is a nice person and all, but her tests r so hard! the average is like a C or D. the worksheets arent sososo hard theyre just a lot of busy work and writing :P Its har to understand her and the RILA. Theyre so many acronyms that she made up I forget most of them. when you turn something in, she grades it hard too. :/
she is quite nutty. she gives out many sheets and she herself does not teach students but she hands out sheets for students to learn from. might as well have the copymachine to be the teacher. she is very unorganized and is hard of sight... she cannot see a students name on a paper or covers it with her finger "accidentally" overall. she isnt the worst teacher but no where near the best or even average. although she writes wonderful thomas jefferson high applications
More than half way through the year and I still don't know what RILA stands for.
Ms. RB really cares about her students and is always available for extra help. She assigns more homework than most teachers, but provides clear rubrics of what she expects.
she gives pointless homework assignments, and alot of them. i dont know wny she hasn't retired. she stamped no name no credit on top of someones name. she loses most of my worksheets and coincedentally doesn't like me.
Looking back to two years ago, and I think she's a good teacher. I still remember some of the things she taught, and she writes good TJ apps. She was...a bit nutty, but she wasn't that bad..not bad at all, really.
evr1 dreaded mrs rb. I did too. I hated her. After school went out i reflected on my school yr. I read her notes on my papers. mrs.rb was a good teacher. Only now do i realize that.
I love Mrs. RoacheBuchanan. She is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Her class is really easy compared to Mr. Cordary. You just have to do your homework in this class (which is mostly just busy work) and you'll be fine. She's not as bad as people say.
This may have been a difficult class, but Ms. RB's class definatley prepared me for high school biology. I personally felt like she was great at teaching in an interesting way and she was also very w
ok she sux she gave me a zero on a homefunassignment becuz i turned it in the wrong way (38 degrees 2 the right) i probably will fail bcuz i dont put anything in my ianb nice person terrible teacher
Dude this is so mean. Mrs. RB taught me alot at least. She is very hard, but she is actually pretty cool if you get to know her =D
I hated her when i was a sevie, but now i look back and laugh. She gives POUNDS of HOMEFUN, but it's easy. She's also quite strange. In the genetics unit, you "make babies" in class. Use LIVING COLOR!
I mean, she's realllly realllly nice, but no offense, when she gets hungry she eats the baby of her new hamster, Bugsy.
Not a hard teacher. Do your IANB as you get new assignments, and study for tests from notes in IANB (not just ELFS!). Don't forget to use lots of color on her assignments. U can learn stuff in class.
Class is incredibly easy, but it seems hard in the beginning because she pours out tons of useless homework assignments. You get used to it after a while.
Makes the biggest deal out of the smallest things; keep every single paper that you have been given (to put in the IANB); is a very nice lady, but a disorganized teacher; FOLLOW PROCEDURES!!!!
update ur ianb and do ur homework and youll pass her class. her stampsheets are worth more than her tests.
Oh, R-B. Why do you insist on giving us so much homework, then covering it up by making everything colorful and pretending it's fun?! THINK OF THE TREES AND CHILDREN!!!!!!!
her bark is worse than her bite. overall a good class, but lots of credit points over things ppl dont think she counts.
her class was so easy, just busy work! compared to tj she is so easy
Her class is really easy, if you do all your homework you should get an A. And she gives out a bunch of EC's too. I had over 100 for all 4 quarters even though i did pretty bad on her tests.
She is a really, really nice teacher. Unfortunatly, she has no idea about how to teach a class. There is so much paperwork, and she is a color freak.
UGH!! I still have nightmares about the IANB. That thing totally killed my grades. She treats us like children, but her guinea pigs are cool
I didn't enjoy every second of her class, but I definitely learned more from her than any other teacher in 7th grade.
Ya she's really strict and gives a lot of work, but I have never learned so much in one year!!! She's amazing, and it's 2 years since I learned the stuff and I still remember ALL of it!!!!!!!
