He is very bare minimum, and he doesn't care about the students individually, just the band or their potential. He does have favorite students and doesn't seem to notice when students are putting in more effort. However, he is very understanding and has good strategies to help the band students learn their music. We have all greatly improved as students, but even in Jazz Band he doesn't seem to let new kids try solos. It's somewhat frustrating and bad for one's self-esteem. Otherwise, he's okay.
Mr. Ordon is usually pretty serious and expects you to work really hard. He also picks favorites, which is pretty annoying. He has a decent sense of humor, which lightens the mood a bit sometimes. He's difficult to approach, for me at least. In general, if you work hard, you'll be okay in Mr. Ordon's band.
If you play percussion, he will hate you, call you out in front of the class, and try to kick you out of band for giving someone a high five
NI really like Mr. Ordon but he picks favorites, and directs most of his attention at them when talking. Nevertheless he is an amazing teacher who helps everyone who is willing to accept it
Mr. Ordon is a great teacher. I was a pain because the other trumpet players and I would joke around and he took it in stride. Expects the best and if your willing to work he's there for you. We had a love hate relationship but in the end he was a great guy. Respect hi.
Mr. Ordon is a teacher that i look up to and probably one of the reasons i intend on majoring in music education. He has made my high school career one to remember
Very serious but is a good teacher. He is pretty chill just dont talk out loud and fool around the whole time.
he made me lose my interest in music. he is nice if he likes you, if not..well your in for quite the year.
hes awesome. he makes each student he has a better musician.
Can be funny but he's usually pretty serious...if you simply go to lessons and try your best in band, you'll do fine..he really pushes you to your full potential if you're willing to accept the help.
He is an awesome teacher. Mr. Ordon really has helped me, (and many others) become better musicians.
he is good a teaching but hard, he gives looks to people and may blame things on people when its not their fault.
cool guy outside of class, but grading wise and such he can be a bit unreasonable.
Great guy and a great teacher, but he is streched too thin. It is too hard to make up lessons when you are in east. And good luck telling your Cult/Lit teacher you have lessons. Overall Great Guy
incredible teacher; has helped me become a better musician
great teacher.. a very down to earth guy... if only all of my teachers were like that
Good guy. Tough on grading. I showed up at all my lessons, but that was hardly reflected in my grade. He has made me a better musician, though.
Mr. Ordon is the most inspirational and influential man I ever had in my life. He really cares about his students; and if you put effort in he respects you as if he'd respect any other person. He's a wonderful man, who knows his music, and is full of talent. Quirky, interesting, cute, funny, there should be more people like Mr. Ordon teaching in Shenendehowa schools.
He is the best band teacher ever (Iam in symphonic band)
Knows his music and can really make a group of kids into musicians; he can really help you on solos and exercises. He could just be a little more emotional in conducting, but other than that, he's brilliant.
Eh, I hated him. He insisted on giving me an 89 every quarter! Even though I went to every lesson! Sheesh! Needless to say, I dropped band the following year. B
Mr. Ordon has been my private lesson teacher for 3 years and I owe ALL of my success to him. One of the best teachers and musicians in the area.
good teacher, if youre in the it for the credits make it look like you practice, if youre thinkin of nyssma this is the teacher who will be most help!
He encourages and pushes you to improve and become a better player. I owe what "talent" I have to him.
One of the most understanding and patient teachers I've ever had.
