I hated history before this class. Now, I love it. Dr. Victory was an amazing teacher. His assignments are not difficult is you understand what he is asking. Sometimes. they are even fun!
This class is not hard. He is very clear what he wants, and it's not hard to do it. The problem is that people won't do the WORK and it is very obvious. You learn a TON, but he does grade subjectively
Dr. Victory is a good teacher with intelligent curriculum and innovative teaching methods.
Dr. Victory's class is, pure and simple, farcical. His mantra of "synthesis" and "preparing us for the future" involve imbecilic attempts at teaching us basic HTML through a WYSIWYG editor! He glosses over major events in US history and spends days discussing the intricacies of single battles. His summative system is nonsensical and rewards presentation, not coherent arguments. I received an "A" on every summative I turned it, simple due to the fact that I used a fancy drop down menu. I even received a
He's a sweet old guy, you can't help but give him a ton of respect. he's the only history teacher at imsa who actually knows what he wants and tells you, makes him easier than the other teachers, but harder at the same time. Because he give you his expectations they need to be met, making in-class essays my worst nightmare! Nice guy, always willing to take a look at you work (which he usually tears apart and makes you start over, but he steers you in the right direction making way for a better grade). W
Synthesis makes a lot of sense, and its great that he makes use of web pages. However, because his Amstud class is so unique, it doesn't prepare students for worldhist and electives.
Victory's class is somewhat interesting and we learn something, but people take the summatives way to seriously. Victory always calls on me because my name is easy to remember (Mr. Ward).
I love the way integrates technology into his lessons. He also asks questions on the summative (ugg) that make me think.
He would be a much better teacher if he actually shared his vast historical knowledge with us. I understand how he wants us to "teach ourselves" but he goes about it all wrong. We learn nothing, except maybe dreamweaver.
Dr. Victory you are the coolest teacher ever. I learned a lot from you. You are a fantantastic teacher, but im glad im not in your class anymore because you have too much fun tormenting the sophmores. Have fun this year.
Victory is the best teacher i no at imsa. If u get the stuff, pay attention, spend time for his class, and take to him, you'll get the stuff and you'll get an A. His class is not hard if you try.
DUDe that class is frigging hard. but thats ok Victory is awesome
A great teacher. Offers a nice blend of history and technology in his teaching process.
He is one of the funniest people I have met. I loved his class. The assignments were evil, but they did have a purpose. I learned a lot...
Victory teaches you to think outside the box. yeah he has difficult assingments, but if you work hard, you're set. I loved this class!
If you can be as straight forward, in class and papers, as he is - A. (Asking questions is a good idea too, but when isn't it?)
no favorites, you can get C's all the way through, then get on A on the final and get an A for the semester. Just learn adobe photoshop, easiest class ever
cool teacher, just learn how to use webdesigning programs well and you'll have no problem with scoring an A. you don't learn much tho.
