Even her favorites don't like her. The first thing she told our class was that she studied English because premed was too hard for her. Uninspiring teacher, doesn't know how to teach, doesn't motivate students. She doesnt care about her students and dosent give students a chance to improve. You're basically stuck with your first essay grade for the rest of the year (which can work to your advantage if you're in journalism and she likes you). Her comments are so unclear and unhelpful.

even her favorites dont like her. she honestly doesn't care about her students at all. the first thing she told us was that she decided to study english because premed was too hard for her in college. her smile and attitude are fake, and her class is just one of those classes that you dread and wont look forward to. even though i was a senior, i worked my ass off in her class because i loved lit at lynbrook, but her discouraging, rude, and unhelpful attitude changed my views on lit forever.

Unhelpful teacher. Mrs. Chan taught AP Literature for the first time in my year, and she disappointed almost everyone in the class. She picks favorites (the journalism kids) and gets annoyed if students ask for help outside of class time. Many students didn't know how to improve their essays because she wrote ambiguous comments like "not logical." She doesn't motivate students and doesn't know how to teach.

Really awesome teacher!! Nice, and her class isn't too hard if you pay attention. Her tests are kinda hard compared to everything else, but she's an awesome teacher in general!

I had Ms. Shiu in her first year at Lynbrook (1999-2000). You can tell a lot about a teacher in their first year, and I was impressed with her performance.
