I know lots of parents say "Oh, try out the teacher for yourself and form your own opinion." Just no! Stay away if you care about your gpa. His normal class that I took 3 years ago was insanely hard. Also, he gives no homework so let's party right?? Hell no, his quizzes and tests are stupidly hard and they come from the 80's. Parents please be wary!
I think the reason why many students dislike Mr. Marquart is because he teaches an extremely difficult class and expects all of his students to put in maximum effort. He is extremely knowledgeable about so many things and is wonderful just to have a conversation with. Though he teaches English, his lessons go further and teach his students many important life lessons. He is an amazing person and one of my favorite teachers. He truly cares about his students.
Absolutely the worst spawn of humanity ever to walk the face of earth. If I could give this man -1 stars I would. He is unfathomably arrogant, disrespectful, and rude. His ego is the size of Iraq, and his eyes are black like Satan. No one cares about his class or puts in any effort because they imminently doomed to a B or C grade back in September. He is the furthest thing from being Catholic because he is closed-minded, elitist, and borderline abusive with his assignments. Awful human being.
Mr. Marquart is a very different kind of teacher. He often rambles about things and expects you to copy down word for word what he said. If you don't, expect to fail the next test. Overall I do not recommend him as a teacher at all. He is arrogant and thinks he is "the man" so to speak.
This is my boy
I have never met a more close-minded teacher. New ideas are banned from the classroom. Academic debate is stifled. His own knowledge (beyond re-reading the same text, withe same disposition, every year) is limited - yet, he teaches with a draconian arrogance that is far from helpful. Give up on learning, and just learn how to provide him with the praise he is seeking.
this teacher is hilarious but teaches at an honors pace. you might hate him for the some part but learn a lot from it in the long run. great teacher
I love mr. marquart. his honors english 2 class is absolutely amazing and he is incredibly knowledgable. even though he may be vague and ambiguous about what he wants from students, i do feel i have still grown as a student. many kids do not enjoy him because they think he is hard, but he just expects a valid effort from everyone. He may be somewhat intimidating, but when you show you care about learning he is an excellent teacher.
Awful. No other word for it. I don't even have him anymore, and I still pray for the day he retires.
mr. marquart's honors english 2 is the best class i've ever taken. he is funny, intelligent, and insightful and each day i feel more inspired. he grades papers toughly, but otherwise is great.
He's a very intelligent teacher, even if he is a little eccentric at times. Either way, I surprisingly liked his english class.....once it was over and I was looking back on it I mean. The learning was hard, but I did learn a lot.
I love Mr. Marquart as a person but not always as an English teacher. He was defintely very good but not always stimulating exactly. He is a really good, really cool guy with a lot of wisdom and knowlege. Anyone would be lucky to have him as a teacher (though you might fall asleep).
Hilarious and amazing. His class definitely improved my writing skills, and I feel like I learned much more than English in his class. See also: Write it down, folks! Jeopardy money! :)
Too political. If you agree with his politics you'll be okay.
Class is very thought-provoking, makes you look at life in a whole new way. If you can put up with moralizing and the "you kids these days are so spoiled" complaint, you'll be fine
THE most intelligent man i've ever met. he's an AMAZING teacher, so clear and concise. can change your writing style for the better. CELLER DWELLERS-memories:)
He is very difficult and a hard grader, which makes you want to work harder. He pushes you to want to do better in his class. Dont give up!
