I know lots of parents say "Oh, try out the teacher for yourself and form your own opinion." Just no! Stay away if you care about your gpa. His normal class that I took 3 years ago was insanely hard. Also, he gives no homework so let's party right?? Hell no, his quizzes and tests are stupidly hard and they come from the 80's. Parents please be wary!

I think the reason why many students dislike Mr. Marquart is because he teaches an extremely difficult class and expects all of his students to put in maximum effort. He is extremely knowledgeable about so many things and is wonderful just to have a conversation with. Though he teaches English, his lessons go further and teach his students many important life lessons. He is an amazing person and one of my favorite teachers. He truly cares about his students.

He was the worst English teacher I ever had. His opinion is the only one that matters. His lectures are boring. I liked reading before I started his class. By the end, I didn't want to touch a book. If you don't want to learn, but want to get an A, just tell him how wonderful he is.

I have never met a more close-minded teacher. New ideas are banned from the classroom. Academic debate is stifled. His own knowledge (beyond re-reading the same text, withe same disposition, every year) is limited - yet, he teaches with a draconian arrogance that is far from helpful. Give up on learning, and just learn how to provide him with the praise he is seeking.

I love mr. marquart. his honors english 2 class is absolutely amazing and he is incredibly knowledgable. even though he may be vague and ambiguous about what he wants from students, i do feel i have still grown as a student. many kids do not enjoy him because they think he is hard, but he just expects a valid effort from everyone. He may be somewhat intimidating, but when you show you care about learning he is an excellent teacher.

Awful. No other word for it. I don't even have him anymore, and I still pray for the day he retires.

He's a very intelligent teacher, even if he is a little eccentric at times. Either way, I surprisingly liked his english class.....once it was over and I was looking back on it I mean. The learning was hard, but I did learn a lot.

I love Mr. Marquart as a person but not always as an English teacher. He was defintely very good but not always stimulating exactly. He is a really good, really cool guy with a lot of wisdom and knowlege. Anyone would be lucky to have him as a teacher (though you might fall asleep).

Hilarious and amazing. His class definitely improved my writing skills, and I feel like I learned much more than English in his class. See also: Write it down, folks! Jeopardy money! :)

Class is very thought-provoking, makes you look at life in a whole new way. If you can put up with moralizing and the "you kids these days are so spoiled" complaint, you'll be fine
