He helped me grow into who I am today and I miss him with all my heart.
Mr.Pressman retiring is probably the saddest thing that will ever happen to me in my high school career. I looked forward to seeing him everyday because of how dedicated he is and how enthused he is about his work. He has left a lasting impression on me and has taught me more than any person I have ever encountered in my life. Thank you for everything Mr.Pressman. You are an amazing man :)
Best music teacher of all time. Mr Pressman is really helpful when it comes to making songs sound better. he can be a bit strict, but that's just because he wants everything to be perfect. 5/5
he is an awesome teacher. you will learn a lot. he is extremely funny and i look forward to going to class everyday.
type of guy that everyone likes except his own family
If you want to know how good he is just ask him and he'll tell you. Yes, modesty is not one of his virtues. He loves himself like no one else. Literally. If you care about advancing your musical skills, Mr. Pressman is the man . . . the man to avoid that is.
every time i came to him to help me with something regarding my voice or an audition he willingly helped me. and he was very excited too as well.mr.pressman is a rare teacher because he not only cares about his students he pushes them to be their best every day in his class. even if you're not into music, take his class. trust me you will learn a lot about various topics:) cant wait to see hiim again next year!
Great Teacher. Hilarious. You will enjoy it. Funny stories, very witty.
As one of the few students ever able to out-wit him and make him smile over it, I must say this is a great man and teacher and friend.
In '75 Joel took over for Bob Holmes and as Seniors, many resented him initially for changing a few of the tranditional things we had done. Joel is enormously talented. He has a "quick and witty tongue". Don't joust with him, because he will out "smack" you in a New York minute. He is fast and direct. Take him and music seriously, and you'll learn a great deal.
Overall, I think he is a very inspiring teacher because of the success he has with his groups. Can be intimidating and will single you out, definitely does have his favorites too. Good teacher though.
Great vocal coach, so passionate about music, and really caring about his students...can be intimidating but not once you get to know him. Kinda like you dad when you're in school. Cool, nice guy and great at what he does!
WOW I know that Pressman wrote like half of the responses below me. I know this because 1) He talks about his rating at school and 2) because of the sophisication. PRESSMAN STOP CHECKING HERE. THIS ISN'T FOR YOU.
Pressman is brilliant and really passionate about music. he may not be the best guy to hang out with but he really knows his stuff. He pushes all his groups to excellence. listen to him and you'll get far.
He always makes us be the best we can be. I learned a lot from him so far. The gold standard of educators. Everyday excellence is expected, but received as well.
I LOVE MR PRESSMAN! SO funny. his face makes me laugh. in a good way tho. lol
I think he really cares about his students, even though some might think he shows favoritism by always picking the same students for solos, he doesnt, everyone in madrigals had at least a solo last ye
He is very intense, but I think he really cares about his students and about expecting a lot from them. I don't get a lot of his jokes, but we laugh a lot in class. I think he is too easy on kids who don't really care about Choir. He should kick them out.
Okay. There are some times where I love him and some times where I absolutely despise him, which is why he's average. Yes, he has his favorites, even though they're rude and loud in class, and they get the solos, which, in my mind, is morally wrong, but that's him, you kinda have to see through him and ignore it. Good luck dealing with him, for anyone who's going to be in choir, Minns, or Mads next year. (BTW, I also wrote the response below, 5/23/07.)
he's an excellent instructor in the art of singing and performance, but I personally think he can be mean. His jokes are hilarious, but often mean. He has never treated me poorly but I've witnessed him be too crude with others. If you care about learning to sing well then take his class. Just remember that if adn when he bewittles you, take it with a grain of salt.
first I thought he was an interesting person. Then found out he was very arrogant and really doesn't care about how people feel.
i love him seriously the best male teachera tt bhhs. actualy.. THE BESTTTT TEACHER AT BHHS. he has hilarious stories about beverly.. just ask him and he'll tell you && you can ask him anythinggg!!!!
JP.. certified to be the best teacher ever. you've inspired me.. taught me.. and made me live up to be the best i can be! thanks for 3 awsome years.. see ya next year :)
dude..this guy thinks hes GODDDDD..he like picks fights with you everyday in class. AND trusttt me, you'll think its funny at first when he does his little imatations but after a while you;re going to want to SHOOT yourself right then and there....if you have him, best of luck to you, just sit there and SHUT UP in his class.
such an amazing teacher! i learn so much about vocal and everything i'm so glad i will have him again next year! he's the best..he KNOWS his stuff so well and always keeps the class fun... he's wonderful
I've had all three intro to theatre teachers and he was the best one. Just don't make him angry. Most of the time he will go on and on about his past as a "performer". Overall his class was the most fun.
Best Performing Arts teacher one can ask for and one of the most amazing human beings ever, but watch out he is really hard to work with. Especially if you're not one of his favorites.
he has been at the school forever! he is a very cool guy who always wants to help you and make you the best you can be. He does tend to talk and complain a lot but thats who he is.
Mr. Pressman is a very odd man. He kno A LOT but he complains too much. he's a good teacher but just stop complaining. things r the way they r, u cant change it
Those of you who think badly of Mr. Pressman are just weirded out because you've never had a teacher who actually has opinions.
Taught me so much and not just about singing. He knows a lot. As long as you don't take his criticisms too personally, you'll enjoy his classes.
He's kind of a mean person, but he really knows his stuff.
AWSOMEE TEACHER..DUDE..I'M THE CENTER OF ATTENTION IN THIS CLASS ;) HAHA BEST TEACHER I LOVE THIS GUYYY!!! BESTTTTTTT
um mr. pressman is like fun and all but he talks WAY, WAY too much about pointless things for a long period of time. he also takes 20 mins to take roll
IS THE BEST HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING AND IS A GR8 TEACHER. I LUV 2 B IN HIS CLASS,HOPEFULLY I WILL MAKE MADRIGALS NEXT YEAR HOPEFULY IF I DONT LEAVE THE SKOO
Mr. P. knows what he's doing. he will turn you into the best singer you can be. He's great to talk for advice or when you're having a bad day. I love his class!
has talent, but knows it. sometimes funny. easygoing. tries to be fair.
there is no inbetween w/ this teacher, you either love him or loath him. i am one of those people who hate him. he thinks hes all tht, n h8s many students.
