Easily the most difficult teacher i've ever had. Demanded complete effort on the part of his students and students got it in return. Always willing to help students and stay long after and before school hours for tutoring. Truly unfortunate that more students dont get him anymore. If you're lazy you wont survive
He tries his best but fails. His homework is so unfair.
John Allen. His class was easily the best class I ever took at SHP. Brilliant man, knew exactly what he was doing every step of the way. "We're all in the same boat till June." Extremely difficult tho
One of the hardest classes I've ever taken (more difficult then Calc AB and BC), but in the end Mr. Allen was a great teacher as he demonstrated it's not just enough to be intelligent, but one must al
I am not surprised he has the most reviews. Mr. Allen is ridiculous. He demands a full and fine effort in everything. Apart from being among the best math teachers I've ever had he is the funniest.
The best math teacher I have had. If you try hard you will not just do well in his class, but have a new understanding of hard work. He is always available for help and wants his students to do well
Incredible teacher. You not only learn geometry, you learn life lessons as well. If you are looking for an easy class, you are in the wrong place.
I did not like Mr. Allen at first, but when i worked with full rigor, I realized my potential, and I solely credit Mr. Allen for allowing me to discover that. He is a great teacher!
A legend. The chance to learn from him is priceless.
The most rewarding and worthwhile class you can take at the Prep. Mr. Allen is a sensational teacher.
Hard class but you can learn a lot and he is a pretty good teacher
Nice guy, great teacher, hard greater. You actually learn in his class. Funny also.
Hard. He makes his own alphabet up inorder to grade. Does not reward you if you do TUFF problems. He doesn't respect the smart kids. Unfair in the make up tests. If you did well, you can't make it up
I had Mr. Allen senior year, and he will not let you slack. He makes you work until the last problem on his final exam. Aside from being a hard teacher, he is always willing to help as long as you put in the time. Aside from teaching math he teaches about life, and some of his classes are priceless. Just listen to the advice and insight he offers, and this alone will prepare you enough for life in general.
Mr Allen is the best teacher at Seton Hall Prep period. I had him senior year and yea he made me work hard as hell, but I learned more in that class than any other class I had in the 4 years there. He prepared me for college better than any other teacher and deserves every compliment he gets. Go to his help classes or just go in for help after school and he's willing to give you the time if you're serious about it.
One of the best teachers, but hardest teachers ever. Gives some homework on stuff you haven't had yet to teach you that ur gonna have to learn stuff on ur own in life. You won't have to study for math in college once you have him.
The guy gives homework every night and makes his tests hard (in addition to his tough grading if you leave out "relevant" steps) which made his class hard. But it was entertaining at times and I find myself doing everything he taught me till this day. He is one of those teachers that you will hate during the year, but you will love once you look back on what he taught you
John teaches how he coaches.Fair yet discipline. He will respect you but needs same back.
Coming from a graduate of Seton Hall...He will be the best teacher you will ever have...if u survive the class
Gentlemen we'll say a prayer. Test positions. Punish Lessons. Artic blast.
Guy is funny but he's too hard and demanding. He's also 74 so he should retire.
