Great person, horrible teacher. I learned a lot from him about life, but absolutely nothing about math. I was unable to take AP Calculus after taking his Honors Precalculus class because I learned so little. Worked super hard, but got a D on my final. Lowest grade I've ever gotten...
If you end up with this clown as your math teacher, you can kiss the rest of your math high school career good bye. He goes off on tangents constantly and by the end of the year he had fallen behind the other sections of the same class by two or more months. The final exam covered many topics that were never discussed in class. This guy should not be teaching math in high school. His exams are easy but you will end up paying for it the following year when you need the material from his class
He just doesn't want to be hated by the class. If the class really wanted to learn, he would be a good teacher.. he knows enough of what you need to know. But if you're afraid of being behind for next year then you'll have to keep up the studying by yourself...
Eccentric teacher, makes class fun. Wants you to succeed.
Cascino is awesome!!truly the best math teacher ever, and one of the best classes I have ever taken. Tests are harder and longer than other teachers, but you have much longer to do them, and he grades fairly. He prepares you for tests and he will give you extra help, so that really you learn it, you have conceptualized the material more than other classes so that you do not forget it as easily.Lots of partial credit too.You end up learning lots of philosophy to as you visit the "realm of math!"
He's a a very interesting and eccentric guy but not the most helpful teacher. I still love him; he's funny and loves his students.
He's very friendly and understanding, but his class is wicked confusing. He goes off on tangents and can't seem to stay focused. He's also a complete pushover and people take advantage of him. But he gives a lot of partial credit, and he's helpful in J-blocks.
I felt like I didn't learn a lot during the school year and he's not the BEST teacher, but he was a lot of fun. Anddd, when I took BC Calc, I was just fine - didn't have to struggle, got an A on the review test...
You know what's strange about his class? You party all year, and talk about philosophy, and don't learn squat...but when you come to BC Calc, you're as well prepared as any!
so laid back, wicked awesome, funny, very strange...no HW, easy as pie..too easy to forget about his class..i have him A block, no one shows up 'til like 8:00 but he doesn't care
He is a very complicated man. He's something that I am not quite able to comprehend, interesting.
What I like about him is he isn't the average math teacher who teachs a monotony and yells at you for not paying attention. He understands what your going through and is just great
Cool character, but...what percent of class is really about math...or more about philosophy...which is not exactly bad though
He is a truly unique math teacher and the only one who explains why?
People take advantage of this teacher, and they shouldn't. If kids respected him more, they'd learn more, end of story. Smart man if you're willing to listen.
To say cascino is the man is a wild understatement, i love you Mr C.
People doubted his abilties to prepare 603 students for calc, but looking around BC calc, i see a lot of kids who know their math and had fun with it b/c of him
illest teacher i ever had... he knows his stuff... hes also a great guy
Anyone that says they don'tlearn anything in Cascino's class is an insensitive fool. Cascino teaches, but people don't listen because they know he won't get mad
what a waste of my time. i really dont like you and stop trying to make me like you. you dont need to know how i feel.
He thinks he is cool. I wonder why we are so behind the other classes! He can't teach.
Mr. Cascino is the man. Nicest teacher I know. I pity him when I see he's got things slightly disorganized, but he is sweet man. Definitely knows his stuff too.
He's the best guy ever...willing to help but what you get on your tests is your grade so enjoy the perks but cram test time
I learned a lot more about life and philosophy than math in his class. His students would do a lot better if they would just listen & do the hw. Very cool guy.
dont change, but u need to make a schedule on PAPER and stick with it one day throu, cause its really a shame when u walk in with a good plan and dont follow it
even though he is only my homeroom teacher, this guy is the best, its like hanging out with a fellow student. Definantly one of the best.
To pass in his class, you basically have to teach yourself, but gives help when asked for. Mixes his philosiphy teaching into daily routine.
One of my favorite teachers here at south. He's help me so much and I LOVE THIS GUY!!!
w/o a doubt the coolest teacher in the school. Problem is, he can't control the class, and homework is hardly encouraged, much less collected. Awesome guy, tho.
When I ride the bus home from J-Block after school I see Cascino straight-ballin in the senior lot with Gucci shoes and twenty fo's on the Escalade. A great guy
His calling is in philosophy. For 603 be prepared to learn by yourself. It's true that class won't help much. Great guy, but not the best teacher.
VERY NICE GUY, INDERSTANDS THE MIODS OF CHILDREN AND ALL OF HIS CLASSES LOVE HIM (EVEN IF NE DOESN'T THINK SO)
He tries very hard. Mr. C is very practical, and tries to help students understand Math beyond the scope of the textbook.
Really cool teacher! Mr.Cascino, you should teach AP Philosophy (seriously)! ;-)
Cascino is the coolest character in the school. He doesn't ruin the experience by checking homework and is very understanding.
I would love to just hang out with this guy. He should teach philosophy. A great guy, but discipline isnt his strong point. SO WHAT? he's still a great guy!
if you dont want to learn all year and still get an A, this is the teacher for you! I didnt do any homework all year, got A's all 4 terms and got a 25% on the final (no joke). I still got an A- for the year. He is one of the nicest men i have ever met!
I want to know why I'm a whole section behind the other class.
Wonderfully smart~ need halp on teaching but he is an amazingly intelligent person~ should be teachign philosophy
Cool teacher, talks alot about his outside life. not a lot of hw. hard to learn in class
Cool guy to talk to about non-school related stuff. But his class is a circus. He assigns no homework and it's tough to learn stuff. I relied on cheating to get past the tests. And I didn't show up to class a lot either.
easy to take advantage of. you can go weeks, even months, without showing up to his class. Do well on his tests and he doesn't care at all
Almost no homework all year, he leaves it to you to learn the material. Although chaos reigns during class, he is incredibly helpful if you see him one-on-one after class. he's a very nice guy and loves math.
You never have to work in his class and you get A's all year long. You don't really learn anything though.
