  • Class is very difficult with respect to tests/quizzes. However, homework is typically assigned about 2-3 weeks in advance of the due date, so if you don't procrastinate, you'll have enough time to do the problem sets in a meaningful manner. Going to the easy SLOBS will help get you perhaps a B, but attempting to solve all of them will help train you for the tests and get you that A.

  • Really smart, funny, and crazy. He seemed to know how to teach the material, but he presented everything in long lectures that could get boring and really off-topic. Otherwise, I learned a lot in the class. The class could get really hard, especially with tests and problem sets, but it was worth it.

If you like getting things graded and learning physics, you might want to skip his non-AP class. I think that I probably learned some physics, but he tends to go on tangents when lecturing. He also won't know your name by the end of the year, which is kind of embarassing. Most of the kids in his non-AP class did no work during the latter half of the year, and didn't even read the book. Pointless class + cool guy = ?

Dr Dell is one of the most frustrating teacher at the school. His lectures are not helpful, and the only thing more difficult than his problem sets are his quizzes. He does not teach- he expects his students to learn most of the material on their own, which is appropriate for a college course, but considering how much free time we have in HS compared to college, he should spend time explaining what he wants us to know instead of just telling us when the quizzes are and grading.

super cool guy. normally i would be annoyed that he doesn't do grades, but he's a good enough teacher and a funny enough teacher that i don't mind. the lack of grading makes me learn more.

it's annoying that he never grades papers, but at least he gives hw in one large dose, no work outside of class except the *fun* problem sets
