I think that Mr. Gillis is one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. He is very helpful and he wants you to do your best. I will never forget all of the cool stories that he would tell us after class about all of his life experiences. He always showed us some of the coolest experiments. What was cool about those too is that he would keep doing the experiments because he loved them so much. You can tell that he loves his students and his job.

Mr.Gillis is a great teacher, and you can tell the way he teaches he is very knowledgable, and really cares for his students. Chemistry is a hard subject, which is why many people don't like him because their grade isn't so good. from what I've heard about other teachers, Mr. Gillis is definitely the easiest to understand.

Mr. Gillis would always beat me with his meter stick. I did not enjoy these beatings as they happened quite often and were extremely painful. He did an awful job of explaining the material. He is very confusing and that makes the exams very hard. John Gillis always has flashbacks to his time in the war and will often shout in the middle of class and pretend that he is flying an F1-11. He will often throw Dry-Erase markers and dissolve your phone. If you get him i advise you should switch out.

He has a lot of experience, and stays after for students, but i just couldn't handle him, pissed me off etc. He's nice, but he can't simplify it for people who don't understand, I might have bias because I hate Chem with a passion, he's kind, and knowlegeable, but just not right for me.

Mr. Gillis has been one of the best teachers I have had at Brighton High School. He is more than willing to accommodate any student and stays late after school to help those who are struggling.

Mole tool was a lifesaver. Mr. Gillis was great. The class in general is kinda hard so anyone whining about it is talking about chemistry not the teacher.

Seriously whats with the drawling above the board? I really do not like him threating us with the M Stick! It was funny untill he started threatning us with a lead pipe and waving it in our faces. He yells alot when you ask questions! NOT A FUN CLASS

Shakey in physics, but the best chemistry teacher in the school. Anyone who disagrees is complaining more about the course than the teacher.
