I don't really know how to talk about the year I had with him... He's a very distant teacher who always seems to be busy, even when he isn't. It's hard to get work done if you have trouble understanding how to put it all together. His only concerns were the movies he saw and celebrity deaths. I can remember days that went by where he'd waste time talking about random stuff with the students he favored instead of grading projects, which he was almost always behind on. Overall, not so great.
Luffred is practically useless as a teacher. He plays favorites. If you ride him like that, he will let you do whatever you want. He's harsh for no apparent reason.
I have been in his Garageband class for a year. He has taught us absolutely nothing. This is a beginner class and we're expected to have perfect songs made.
He refuses to grade projects if he doesn't like you and then goes to grade the same one for someone else.
He acts like he knows a lot (computers, music) & he doesn't.
Mr. John Luffred is a great mentor. He is a great music teacher. He teachers me a lot about how to get out of my comfort shell. John Luffred teaches with care and he is very great at it. He may seem harsh at first but at the end it is worth it. He may seem really unfair with solos but its because he is trying to do what's best. Just ask him what you can work on and he will be honest and nice with it. He is a well known man in florida. Mr. Luffred is a great teacher and I recommend him .
Mr. Luffred takes his anger out on other people especially the innocent. When other people have their phones out he yells at them but when his favorite students have their phones out he laughs and plays with them but they talk behind his back. He is good with directing but when it comes to his temper he yells. In piano class he yelled at some boy for watching a movie when he was supposed to be working but then he grabbed the boy and put him out you are nhad to touch a child that's not yours.
I am only giving my opinion from what I experienced in women's chorus and my experiences with my friends in mixed chorus. He is very nice but he does hold favorites. Usually he respects all of his students and does try to make exceptions if they are having difficulties with learning the songs. You learn to sing in the class room and learn music theory in the labs. Take his class seriously and you'll be fine. However, in his other classes he is not as good he is in chorus.
He's a very nice person, but unfortunately, he only really knows about singing and piano. His theory lessons are a joke (I completed all 4 years worth of theory work in about 3/4 of a year), as is his knowledge of the guitar.
His guitar class is TERRIBLY boring and useless if you've played for more than a few months, and even if you're a beginner, you won't learn too much unless you go outside of school and teach yourself.
He's a fun teacher, no doubt, but way too busy to actually be with the class. At least in the guitar classes, anyway.
I think that he's a good teacher but needs to calm down a bit. Other than that he's cool
He was awsome in the begging of the year but after 2nd semester started he was extremley strict and blamed a lot of things on innocent people. But dont get me wrong i loved his class last year but he just wasnt my fav teacher
i think that he is a great teacher and that he has tought us very well we are gonna b very prepared to go to dirsticts go coral glades!!!!!!!!
lol, I really like him, sorry...so he doesn't teach us anything....but we're not there to learn, we're there to sing!
