I'm in his class right now, and, honestly, it's the hardest class I've taken yet. I know I'll be super prepared for the AP exam and the rest of the AP classes at Franklin, but I'll have to live that long first.
Mr. J. Parauka is the best teacher I have ever had. Truly a respectable human being. Hilarious. Learned so much in his class and was so nice and pushed kids to do their best.
proka is me fav teechr to walk the plenet urth
He's a bit strange when you first start his class, but it grows onto you. He's a really genuine teacher who is willing to work with you so that you can have a good grade in his class. He jokes around a lot and has his quirks, but in the end you leave the class learning a lot and enjoying it as well. I loved his stories, and when they were on the test, it was a really effective way of making sure we remembered the information. Overall, great man and a great teacher.
I never really participated too much in class, however after taking his class and understanding all that the man had done for the school on top of teaching his own class at an AP level, all I can say is that the man is both an outstanding teacher and role model. A future as a comedian could also be considered for the man as well.
at the beginning of the year I was like nah fam I'm failin but then eyyyy I did aight on the first test but then I was like nah again this is hard stuff and I really didn't like his class. but I realized that almost everything he says is either a joke or sarcastic and I learned to thoroughly enjoy his class. hes a low key great teacher
Mr. Parauka is a great teacher. His stories are not only funny but help us learn a lot.
you have to pay attention in every class and review every night. Don't beat yourself up if you get a C D or even an F on one of his tests; you'll probably end up with a a or b at the end of the year and a 4 or 5 on the ap exam
he's aight. just a lot of work. If you don't want a hard year take Pratt.
punkrauka is cool . he a bit agg though. his test are hard & you gotta listen to his stories from day one. he cares about ya though & wants you to pass & if you need help you can go to him & get help . he doesnt have a problem helping
the worst things are his tests and his tendency to embarrass students. he will call on you to ask you things that arent in the textbook or things that require outside knowledge, and will embarrass you if you cant get the answer. its possible to get C's maybe D's on his tests and finish with an A as long as you get A's on everything else. projects are relatively easy as long as you know your topic (if he has to cut you off he'll inflate your grade) and he makes his second exam easy bc of AP exam.
Mr. Parauka is one of my top favorite teachers ever. He truly cares about all students. If he sees someone who looks upset, he will stop what he is doing and help them. Everytime he walks through the halls, he asks whoever he sees how they are doing. He is extremely involved. He is more involved than the principal, Dr. Rusnak.
I LOVE THISMAN SO MUCH. HONESTLY MY FAVORITE TEACHER SO FAR AT FRANKLIN. NEW FRESHMEN NEXT YEAR, YOU WANT TO TAKE THIS CLASS!
You like him the most before you get the first test. Honestly, even if you think you're a genius like I did, YOU MUST STUDY THE WEEKEND BEFORE. HARD. CORE. STUDY.
Talks a lot during class but if you pay attention, the class is fun and not hard. Although there is a lot of information, all is available and he explains things well
parauka flaka flam is "AWESOME"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love his personality and his class although im not doing well but thats my fault i didnt turn in my home work for the first 2 weeks.
I am still his student! However, these few weeks has changed my look on teachers. This man is so crazy that I didn't think it was possible. His test are hard though. From his "AweSOME" to the "That's not very nice!" he is the strangest but greatest teacher ever!
I LOVE MR PROCK! He is such an amazing teacher and is so dedicated to teaching us and helping prepare for the ap test. He's really nice and funny. I wish more teachers were like him!!!
Usually when I have a really tough class, I look back and realize I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. That definitely does NOT apply to this class. He is insane and tries to be funny by belittling students. The workload is intense, but one good thing I can say is that I got a 5 on the AP exam without too much effort. Definitely one class I do NOT miss.
his class is very entertaining. if i would've had him for another subject, it would've been my favorite class since i hate social studies classes. he also gets off subject a lot but that's okay-his life stories are pretty intriguing
Mr. Parauka is very tough to work with given his attitude and his tendency to put down students.
Wow, he's so...weird! I really don't like his class, and his behavior irks me.
parauka:) p-rock. He's so cool and understanding, especially to freshman. He understands franklin pressures.
He's funny but can have mood swings and start yelling. With all the map quizzes and side projects, it takes a while to learn the stuff in the textbook that's actually on tests, which are pretty difficult. He also takes a long time to grade things. However, I enjoy geography class most days.
i dont go to franklin, but my siblings do.ill be going there next year.ive heard exacctly what the other posts say because my siblings have told me "stories" about him
One of my favorite teachers! So funny, but also very knowledgeable. Like the other posters said, he can be very weird and intimidating at first, but everyone always ends up loving him.
P-ROCK is the best teacher ever, he was intimidating at first when he was going into his rants about white out and how we were all brilliant, but then he got to be the funniest man alive. He's so strange, and its so amazing. His class is really challenging, but he makes it cool to be in his class because of all of the little side things that he says. Woo, and his landscaping sessions were pretty intense.
Oh man, I love Mr. P-rock. I don't like geography, but he really gets you into it. If you try, you will learn. So funny. Here's an example. We were talking about population control in underdeveloped countries and he says "Whatever happened to stabbing?"
Voice kinda weird making it hard not to laugh very strange wants work very precise hates gum and white out
AAAAH dont get me started - his class is hard but that is BESIDE THE POINT - he is wonderful so weird so funny - its up to you to make his class fun
Please keep an open mind about the man, and disreguard the rumors. He really is a strange but funny man, and a good teacher.
mr.p is really strange but i guess its because im a freshman thats why i don't understand him yet.
Mr P RULES!! He is SOOO funny, and his class is really comprehensive.. he really helps you if he sees you're trying, trust me, I know. His class is a hoot!!!
Ok, Freshmen PLEASE do not make judgements on P-dawg. He is a little qwerky at first but around Christmas time, you'll grow to love him
HAHA, he aint my teacher but i luv him so much. he is like tha funniest. does he even have kids? he doesnt have ne pics. but i still luv him. C/O 2005 4-sho!!!
Very good teacher, you'll learn a lot. However freshman just give up now. it's impossible to get a good grade.
He was funny. His grading scale was terrible. His 3 and 5-year old haven't grown up since he started teaching. For some reason, he didn't like gum...
despite freshmen rumors, mr. p is the BEST 9th grade teacher!
Hilarious guy. The class was fun. He likes eraseable pens, and white out is BAD, BAD, BAD!
When I had his class almost 3 years ago I hated it. but now when I think of the class I miss it. he's a bad teacher but cool person once you get past the bump.
I can not stay awake in that class. He is kind of strange with all the stories about his family.
master p!! he's so cool! kind of hard, but hilarious (and strange ). that was a great class
tho he was scary scary scary sometimes, he was nice and i learned a lot
