His class is hard. There is no way around it. You can avoid him if you want but looking back on it I wouldn't have missed that class for the world. Mr. Pelsters English class brought down my GPA when I thought I was good at English, this was because no matter who you had before you're probably not good at English. Mr. Pelster in a purely academic sense is the best teacher at De La Salle. If you listen in class and user good inline resources Mr. Peslter will turn you into an essay writing god.
I had Mr. Pelster my junior year for AP Lang. He is the reason Moby Dick is my favorite book. Mr. Pelster actually taught me how to write, I just had to put in the effort. He is a hard grader and frustrating at times, but truth be told, his class is not as hard as college classes. His class was honestly a life-changing class and one of my favorites from high school. You'll be fine grade-wise as long as you don't slack off.
He bought all of his good reviews. Looking back, his classes were the worst for me. He always has to be right, I wonder if that's why he only teaches kids.
It is impossible to get an A but if you listen you will get a b. Make sure u make him proof read your essays.
Mr. Pelster is a really hard teacher, but you'll learn a lot from him. It's nearly impossible to get an A in his class, but if you take AP English, you'll do well on the AP exam.
Mr. Pelster is a good English teacher, but takes his passionate hatred of History too far into his class. If you take this class, do not ever mention or write about History, You have been warned.
abnormally tough grader, and the class becomes monotonous very quickly.
man o man....if you get his class...drop it...thers no need for a bad grade to ruin your year when u can get an a+ in any other english class
Each day when I ask my son what he learned in school, he always tells me what he learned in Mr. Pelster's class. I've never met him, but he sounds like a great guy with a very interesting personality.
Although it may take a few months to get used to his teaching style and personality, he's brilliant and very personable (once you get to know him). Best teacher I've had.
difficult class. hard grades on essays, but you actually learn something in this class compared to most english classes.
I learned more in this class than any other english class. This guy acts like he knows everything about english, cuz he does. Learned how to wright an awsome essay thanks to him.
in interesting guy. enjoys teaching. hardest grader ever. i have yet to get an "A" on one of his essays.
Hah! You Fool! You can tell a lot about a person by the way he staples his paper.
Pelstinator is the sickest teacher period. He dispells every youthful hope any of his students have of the world being a good place. He is so cool.
pelster's class was one of the most boring classes I've ever had....time seems to move backwards.... he ruined any hope I had of achieving something in english.
i dont know, he's a great guy, but everyone in my class gets c's on their essays. you love him but you hate him at the same time.
other teachers start class with prayer. master p starts it by reading his darwin awards calendar. hes intense and so very cool. best & toughest english teacher.
I had him for AP in '02. Pickiest essay-grader ever. Best English teacher I've ever had. Sharp, cynical and brilliant. I still write my essays by his rules.
Pelster is a little scary, but very interesting. Although he's a tough grader, he does prepare you for the AP exam.
There is too such a thing as self esteem... monty python does rule though. Pelster is definitly a great teacher. I got a 5 on the Ap cause of him. He just rules
Master P is a great teacher but with all the old english gibberish it gets difficult. This is english not OLD english.
savage, thought his lexus to afganistan idea is whacked
