A little strict about speaking in Spanish so much, has us do fun games and skits, uses a lot of school wires tools. I did better that I thought I would because he helped me review a lot at extra help.
He helped me at extra help to understand some hard topics thart i was confused on. Great LAX coach & he tries to make each class fun. The screrencasts he makes are good for review and studying.
I think I'll be really well prepared for the final.
i thought i'd be scared for the emoji skits but he made them really funny
I think i'll do great on the final because he made us work hard all year
his games are good
seems strict sometimes but i'm glad he made us work hard becausethe final counts for 20%
i like the games
We are making boardgames and video games to practice our Etapa 6 words and it is fun. He makes us try to speak in spanish all the time and that is hard but I like making games.
i had trouble with my portafolio digital and he helped me a lot at exta help to fix it
He has us do pupet shows and they are fun
Our airport skits were boss & he brings in all kinds of props
i like that we listen to music when we write
Señor Toscano plays the guitar and has us sing in Spanish. I love music and that makes it fun. The class is intense and you have to use Spanish even when you are not sure about how to say something. That makes it hard and he is strict about it. I like it when we use computers to do projects.
Sr.Toscano has us write scripts for puppet shows and memorize them. i like that but it can be hard because the class is fast and you learn alot of words
he does portfolios when we record conversations but it is hard to do it only talking spanish
When he helped me as a senior, I realized that there are reasons for everything he does. The do now gets you to work immediately and maximize your practice time; the music immerses you in culture, Torito keeps you focused on Spanish; the online materials help you practice in different ways; and each component represents a lot of work and thought. Trust me, he had me help design a few...
we do puppet shows and they are fun
he uses technology a lot but the class is fast and you have to only speak spanish but I love torito
the group google doc study guide is a good idea and i think it will help me alot
the voices and moving with skits are fun & i use his screencasts a lot
the digital library option isthe best and he helped me a lot at extrahelp
I had him in 8th grade and I used his Prezis to review for part of my HS Final Exam in 9th grade. They are very helpful. He does a good job preparing you for HS.
he doesn't let you talk to your friends when you should be working, which is annoying, but he gets us to practice in lots of different ways
I like the prezis and screencasts for studying
I like the skits and that we throw a hackey sac around to answer questions
not to brag or nothin' but i'm great at spanish and i do great at skits and he has something to do with that
gotta say i'm not lovin the worksheets though but he tries to make it painless by hsving partner work, playing games, and throwing a hackeysac to review
he made a digital library for us with Spanish eBooks
he is strict but fair but I don't like when I can't ask questions in english
Had him two years ago and, at the time, it felt tough. Looking back, it made HS feel easier. I miss the Prezis because they helped a lot.
I'm split. The class is a HS class and he measures participation with a rubric keeping track of you on a sheet. You have to Speak in Spanish or your grade will not be good. He wants you to work right when you get to class and you are basically practicing the whole time.
I loved the google slides project but I am nervous about the music video. Writing poetry in Spanish is hard. The pace of the class is fast.
I like him and he helps me a lot at extra help. He only takes off 1 point for missed accents.
The worst spanish teacher! Coming from Sñra.Mirville, i thought it couldn't get worse. After having him for a month, I prayed to go back to her class. Señor Toscano never learned our names and used a sheet to look at them. His projects are pointless. He taught us NOTHING and the day after a test we watched a movie in spanish that no one understood so he could grade our tests in class. He takes off 2 points for every missed accent and is never there for extra help. Deserves the worse rating.
he is strict about speaking in spanish in class and the pace is fast
The class is a lot of work but the exams feel easy after studying so much
he made it easy to understand the basics of Don Quijote
it is a funny story
the enrichment activities are a lot more fun than the grammar worksheets
i liked la tomatina too
there's a videogame and a screencast for each quiz and they are really helpful
My music video is going to be great. He tries to make it fun by connecting it to music.
he gets you to study and work hard and then you get good grades
Throwing the hackey sac in class to answer questions is fun
The pictures on his schoolwires make me want to go to Spain!!! He is tough but fair. Love the videojuegos.
Toscano plaid flamenco music on his guitar while we did the do now--awesome
love la silla
the games and songs are fun
Tough grader but fair. The digital library option is good. I like the fact that there are different ways to practice. Not a big fan of the worksheets and I prefer the quizlets and prezis.
The music and culture activities are interesting but he is strict.
I think it is really great that we make spanish video games and music videos. He tries to make it interesting even though he wants you to work hard all the time.
the games are really great even though they are old school games
I think the guitar activities are fun and the songs helped me remember. the skits are good too but the projects are a lot of work
I was very well prepared for HS Spanish after taking his Sr. Toscano's class. He expects a lot and that made me want to work hard.
I love all the different sources that he has on his SchoolWires. However, I don't like the singing project or the skits since he expects us to be able to act well(which is not spanish related). His classes can also get boring after awhile since he forces you to repeat everything he says.
yup, he is strict about talking in spanish but I liked the fashion show a lot
I don"t think he should takeoff 10 points when projects are late. They are alot of work and you shouldn't loose 10 pts for turning it in late. But he writes what we are doing on the board and makes a lot of things onlinefor us to practice. I like that because you can look ahead and see what you are going to do. Hard grader.
He gives us the skits to do in different ways. It is hard to write them only speaking in spanish in our groups but they are fun to act out.
he plays music a lot and makes a lot of internet materials you have to work right away and it feels tough he is a strict grader but making the corrections at home for the quizzes helped me a lot on the tests
He has really high expectations but all the hard work pays off.
We had to do fourbig projects and i hate working in groups. I did like the one where you could work alone.
having to Speak so much spanish all the time can be super-stressful, but it totally pays off in the end
at first he seems really strict but he plays guitar and throws a hackey sac around the room to answer questions
yah, really strict about Torito and grading but fair and the prezis and screencasts helped a lot
Loved doing the Music Video project. Ours rocked!
Sure he is strict; but guess what... you don't screw around and you study hard. I learned a lot. We did get to throw the hackey sac around to answer questions and listen to music when writing. All those things on schoolwires are great too. I even used the Prezis and Podcasts to study for stuff later on in 9th grade. The skits were good too. I was really proud of our airplane skit. I like the accent from Spain.
Liked the video games and zaptions. Fun class!
He shows a lot of effort in trying to make sure ash student understands and he tries to connect with kids by making 6 different ways to study; video games, prezis, podcasts, quiz let... He takes of 2 points for every error. He does NOT take off 20. You can only speak in spanish when torito is on the table which is hard because i often have questions but do not know how to ask in spanish so i cannot ask. He comes early every morning in case a student wants extra help and stays late all the time.
Very nice teacher. Teaches uses textbooks and worksheets.
I think Senor Toscano is a great teacher. I have learned so much from him and I think that people should be lucky to have him as a teacher. I don't think people know how much effort he puts into his job by making videogames and prezis that are so beneficial. I love toasty and he has really prepared me for High School. So what if he has a lisp! Does it really matter people! I learn so much and that's all that matters. Thank you toasty for all you have done, I really do appreciate it!
I love videojuegos!!!!

Won't let me put a link but replace the parenthesis with what it says. This sums him up. He probably also buys the projects from here. It's funny because these projects are the only things that aren't straight out of the textbook.
Yo quiero loth dultheth. Theriouthly, no one in my clath can underthand him becauth of hith lithp. Horrible teacher, we learn from the tethbook and theethy videoth. Altho a really harth grader on tethth and thkitth. Pray that you don't have him. Doethent detherve the lowethet grade I can give him.
Hes a bad teacher... he doesnt care. the person who wrote "Great guy. Tough teacher but a nice man and cares for his students" down there was probably him
In the beginning of the year I thought he was a great teacher but as it progressed I realized how annoying he was. As others have said he grades harshly and believes we should have knowledge of things that have never been taught to us.
Its only my second week and i dont like the way that he teaches.
Great guy. Tough teacher but a nice man and cares for his students
Spend your days praying you dont have him...and if you do i feel so bad for you...
scarsdale is ranked as one of the richest and best schools in the nation yet toscano is an awful an and teacher, he sits back at his desks and actually has us teach ourselves, he has no teaching skill and is not helpful whatsoever. i stopped going for extra help because he is never actually there and the times he is there he is useless and a waste of studying time and i would rather do anything than spend more time with this man toscano is an awful teacher and every single student agrees
Terrible. He takes off points for capitalization and periods. How does that have to do with spanish. If he is in a bad mood he takes off 4 points a makestake and in a good mood 2 points a mistake. Some people say we are just bad students. The whole class can't be bad. I got a A last year in spanish now im getting a b . all the kids in other classes get half a point off a mistake and don't care about punctuation. He assigns busy work and while we were reviewing for finals, he made us do a skit.
I HATE THIS MAN. HE IS THE WORST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME
He's not really that bad, but he does certain things that seem a tad pointless. The flipper, for example has no purpose whatsoever and frankly, drives me crazy. He takes points off for things that don't really matter on tests and can be rather strict when he wants to. He's also not very helpful with projects, he doesn't give us much time for them. In general, I don't quite like him, but that's just me.
I haven't learned one thing in his class. I was taught spanish this year by a textbook and cheezy videos. All he does is he gives us a textbook activity and walks back to his computer.
"Classic" teacher that gives you homework you don't want, but he can be nice at certain times.
the first day I knew i would hate him because of his monotone voice and bad ora. last year, i had senor jackson and i miss him so much!!!! sr. toscano is not fun and just borinngggg
senor toscano is really a great guy. hes tough, but it really does all pay off in the end. im currently in honors spanish and i really owe a lot of my success to senor toscano!!!
He's really nice and enthusiastic. He came up with so many ways for us to practice Spanish and I can't believe how much we learned. He really made sure that we all understood what he was teaching.
horrible teacher.. sadly at times i think that i no more spanish than he does
I really don't like this teacher. Does he ever smile? i want to look forward to Spanish, not dread it.
he kinda sux. they pay him to read a textbook out loud. they might as well send the check to the textbook
Sr. Toscano doesn't teach. In class, all we ever do is read the textbook and do worksheets. When in a good mood, he hands out As, when in a bad mood, he hands out Cs.
okie u might think that he is a good teacher but he took of points on my test b/c i wrote my Es the "rong" way!!! and wut is with him wanted to go to the bathroom every class!!!! i
I don't see why people think he is so bad. Hes the best teacher! He's clear, helpful, and makes learning fun with the skits and the hackie sack! TOSCANO ROX!
he is mean i dont like him but some how know i know spanish
He told my class that if he put you in remedial spanish then you would probably end up flipping hamburgers for a living
umm, he is monotunous, but its cool that he plays music. he gives no time on projects though
oh man, this guy was mean at heart. he like wanted you to fail. i did really well in his class anyway but geez, he wanted to hurl the lacrosse ball at people!
"i teach spanish cause it payed the best out of all my majors" 1st of all NICE ATTITUDE next if a teaching pays the best wat did he major in flipping burgers?ha
He is a very poor teacher, and monotonous. I hate that he would grade skits based on the performance of the other members of your group.
Toscano did losen up at the end of the year and I got a 100 on a big skit but this guy picked favorites. He wouldnt give me an A+ when I deserved it.BAD TEACHER
i really dont like this guy. i feel bad for him and his wife but he is so plain and boring hes like toast. he was really easy but he teaches for money.
Toscey is my dog! When u have him he seams mean, dumb, and unemotional. But in retrospect he is a good teacher. I learned a lot.
i feel bad for him and his own life but, he is the worst teacher and i think the school should just hire the text book becuase it would do a better job.
