Oh my goodness... Ms. Yamamoto. One of the most difficult teachers I encountered at Leland. But 24 years later I must say that the basics that she taught have enabled me to go extremely far in the world of science. It wasn't until I was halfway through my PhD in engineering that I realized how good she was. Those quizzes were hard. The extra credit kept me up many hours. But thank you.
One of the best teachers I had. It was hard work to get an A grade and Mrs. Yamamoto made it enjoyable. She made it very clear if you work hard, pay attention, and give it your best you could do well. I took her advice and did well. This was 25 years ago and I still remember the positive experience. I thought of Mrs. Yamamoto today because we have a client in our office today who is a Yamamoto. Not sure if they are related! :)
Man, does she have the "Hard" reputation! I had her 20 years ago and she was SUPER hard! But I loved her and I learned a lot. Thank you, Mrs. Yamamoto. I'm a teacher now, too!!
nice teacher, but one of the hardest math teachers. She gives out lots of tedious and useless worksheets and quizzes!
very hard teacher, gives lots of pop quizzes and quick checks.
She seems nice, but she doesn't seem to want to really help her students. She can't fully dedicate herself to allowing students to fully understand the lessons that she teaches. She teaches very fast
Amazing teacher, nice lady. A lot of pop quizes for algl 2/trig. Stay on top of your work and listen to her. You will be fine. Very amazing teacher
Really good teacher so far. I hope I learn alot from her this year.
She tought me much more than i expected to learn this year
premier math teacher at leland, very clear, really nice... the class is not easy but you learn quite a lot... overall, excellent
For MAH, she's a brilliant teacher. Torques and stuff were kind of hard, but not really because of her skills, but ours I guess. REALLY prepares you for calc BC well.
shes very hard but explians every thing. if u want a easly A. trnsfer out. but uf u accually want to learn shes very good
She really does play on favorites. If she didn't, I'd have a 112% in MAH right now. I have a 104% because she has been continuously taken off pts for me. I just got a -1 on my quiz
verrryyyy hard. but helpful and nice...most of the time
She's awesome and sweet, just really hard. Being in her class makes me feel super stupid. =[
As others have said, top students in her class do the teaching. I took MAH with her 4-5 years ago, and learned nothing. She prepares you poorly for calculus.
she explains well, but boringly wouldn't recommend transferring out if you get her
Holy moley, Ms Yamamoto is the sweetest/best math teacher of all that i've had! I even made a song! "Yo... Ms Yamamoto! Yo!" hehe :D
mS. yaMaMotO really knoEs heR stuFf.shes the BEST.sHe is like tHe smaRtEst maTh teaChER. and shES so undErstaNdin
I LOVE MS. YAM! she is the sweetest math teacher ever! even for someone who hated math, her tests were very fair and she is REALLY clear when teaching!
she's nice, but she's not very good at teaching higher levels of math and relies too much on the top students to explain things
ms yamamoto is awsome... still, she has too cool it a bit with the quizes
great class...help to prepare for future math classes...thanks a bunch...
She teaches so well and her tests never throw you a curveball. She sometimes grades too picky, but I guess that prepares us for college.
ms. y is the best. she goes over the material with her students veri well and always tries to help out n e one who has trouble in alg2 and mah. thnx!
Algebra2 is good.. MAH is hard..Leland only have 1 MAH class...other schools have more than 5.. all the good math kids in one class makes the class really hard.
I had Miss Yam Last year.... Shes way cool! Best Math Teacher at Leland. Yup Yup Pretty awesome
Miss Yamamoto is absolutely the best for Algebra 3,4. However, for MAH, she could have been better for Vectors and torques and angular velocity. Overall, she is one of the nicest and most understanding. Thanks!!!
mrs. yamamoto was pretty good for algebra 2 since that was fairly easy, but when it comes to MAH she tends to forget how to teach what we're learning and has to consult TAs for help. she plays favorites way too much
definitely great for algebra, but MAH is kinda killer. still a really coo teacher though..
Mrs. Y is pretty cool..great teach. Needs a little work on certain spots, but overall is good at what she does.
Ms. Yams is so tight. Sure she teaches the most boring subject on earth, but she takes a lot of personal attention and is stinkin hilarious. Love her!
sure, yamamoto is really hard...but she's so helpful!! but school is for socializing, and she should let the people in the back talk more...just kidding.
Who can't love Ms. Yamamoto? She's great! Whoever said they need another teacher for MAH must not be in her class, really... I love her class and she's a wonderful person.
they so do not need ot get someone else to teach MAH. Miss Yamamoto's awesome
