She is not a fair test grader. She will catch your mistake, point it out to you, see that you carried it all the way through, and take off more points than the problem was actually worth. Her lectures often end with tangents about her daughters, or her house in Tahoe and its "iPhone controlled thermostat". Transfer from her class if at all possible!
This woman is awful. I hate her. I was in her precalc class last year and her algebra II/trig class the year before, and her grading system sucks and is super unfair. She docks like crazy for stupid little things and if you make a stupid mistake at the beginning of the problem like 6x7=13, she'll mark the entire problem wrong even if you used the right formulas and obviously understood the concept, just because you did the problem with the wrong number from a very stupid error.
She makes you make too many assumptions, and if you don't make them then chances are you will get a lot of points deducted. For example if you get a problem and you know how to do it, but there's a method she taught you in class then you better use her method or chances are you will get no credit for the problem. She doesn't teach well and I find her class very boring. I do have to give her credit for grading tests very fast. Often she will give out scores the next day after the test.
shes REALLY strict and will humiliate you whenever given the chance...transfer ASAP.
She's a hard teacher but really motivates you to work. I went into the class very scared because I heard about her reputation but as the class went along, she was very helpful and is willing to push you to reach your potential. She wants her students to succeed and genuinely cares about them. One of the best, if not THE best, teacher I've ever had. But then again, I was in that pre-calc class
Though she's strict and her tests are difficult, she is an overall good teacher, and she's always glad to help those who pay attention and do their homework.
Do your work. If she grades hard, she grades fairly. I got an F on the first test and somehow pulled a C first semester. I got my stuff together and scored an A on the last semester. Do your homework.
her precalc class was easy, but she hates kids who know what they're doing and do well on tests, aka kids SMARTER THAN SHE IS.
some people dont get the way she explains things but i think her class (algebra 2/trig) is pretty easy.
An easily irritable teacher, Ms. Cubillo has trouble interacting with students in a classroom setting. One on one however she proves that she is very knowledgeable on math and will always help you.
Mrs. Cubillo may not be one of the more popular teachers on campus, but when it comes to math, she certainly knows whay she is talking about.
Mrs. Cubillo was a condescending woman that only really liked students that reminded her of herself or her children. She is good at what she does, but not all the students can follow her clearly.
Her class is hard, but if you go for help during study session, she's really helpful. I learnt a ton during her class and because of her got an 800 on my Math II subject test.
good teacher but not a very nice person. unfair in the way she treats students, very biased. smart but arrogant. she does not like asians and makes it clear. has random mood swings
some ppl might not like her, but i think she's a good teacher, i still remember everything from geometry even though i took it 3 years ago
Unfair of a teacher. I don't understand why she's still teaching. Sometimes, I wonder if she even likes teaching.
Worst math teacher ever. Arrogant, unfair, and biased. If you dont solve problems in the exact manner in which she specifies you get zero. She is uninteligent, naive, and ignorant.
It was a hard year for me, but i learned alot, and I'm really glad I had her. So, as long as you're good with the proofs and remembering formulas, you're good to go =D
she is definately really hard when it comes to grading but she's very fair and knows what she's doing. in my opinion she's a really good teacher.
Umm... what to say...u remind me of kremenliev, and that is not a good thing.
Yes she's hard but get used to it, math is HARD. At least she's actually a good teacher! And she's fair too, she'll bump up your grade if you deserve it
she's simply the best math teacher i've had since mrs. moser
Tests are really hard, but she'll help you a lot if you talk to her before or after school.
OMG she marked me 4 points because she THINKS i cheated; just because i can do the problems mentally. AND SHE DIDN"T LET ME GO TO THE BATHROOM AND I HAD TO BEG!
kind of judges you sometimes. very stingy when grading tests and quizzes. have to be very specific on showing work. dont like her class at all
very good teacher but doesn't round up on grades. very frustrating when your .4 from getting an a.
Teaches well, you get things shes saying, and if you don't, shes happy to explain them to you
Best math teacher I've had. She really knows how to explain math but her tests are hard. She is fair.
I don't like her too moody and cares about tardies a bit too much. She doesn't know how to teach either.
i try hard in her class but i'm bad at math and she says she will help me but doesn't give me and credit for trying my best.
i have her for advisory and do not like her at all. All she talks about is herself and shes mean
ugh i guess she helped me learn. she's so moody though i hope she reads this.
Could be mean and spiteful. Occasionally a good teacher. Often absent
Ms cubillo was my fav teacher, i looked forward to her class everyday
