05/24/13 - It has been a disappointing and stressful year at St.Joseph school. Many basic learning opportunities have been removed from the school. For example, Science night, young authors assignment, book reports an enriching March reading month and much more. When a group of concerned parents approached the priest , principal and diocese we were largely ignored and no one was held accountable. When we finally got a meeting this week we were treated with arrogance and condescension by the diocese. Show More Show Less

05/19/13 - While I gave Mrs. Meerschaert a pass last year because she was new to St. Joseph, I'm tired of the blame game. Everyone is at fault, not her. The web of lies is growing. When I brought my concerns to our parish priest and the Lansing Diocese, they told me to pray on it. Really? Enrollment is dropping fast under her watch. She was hired to increase enrollment and market St. Joseph. More families are leaving because of her. It's sad to say, but I truly believe she does not like children. Show More Show Less

02/28/13 - Before Ms. Meerschaert arrived St. Joseph was the finest parochial school in Livingston county. Now I am sad to say I cannot send my child there next year. It is not being run with the goals of strong academics and faith. The wellness policy is her top priority. The once clear discipline policy was thrown out the window for a vague one that is administered on a case by case basis. Bullying is not seen as a serious issue that children face. Standardized MEAP testing has been dropped. Show More Show Less

01/15/13 - My family will not be returning to st joseph school, i have one regret and that is not leaving in2011. Judy meerschaert is lacking in social skills and professionalism . It saddens me to see the turmoil she has caused. There are so many schools with great principals who love their students. She is not one of these. Show More Show Less

01/11/13 - I am a parent at the school where Judy is currently employed. I am unable to find one positive attribute about her administration of our school. We will wait to see if she is fired this year before we will enroll for next year. The school is losing students like crazy. I am only rating her because if a prospective employer reads this, it might save another school from the disaster that has befallen us. Show More Show Less

07/27/12 - Mrs. Meerschaert is a very poor communicator. She was hired in part based upon promises of increasing enrollment but families are leaving left and right because of her. She is in my opinion very unprofessional in both appearance and manners. Her tenure at St. Joe has been extremely disappointing; we only have a few years left at this school and the majority of our experiences have been wonderful but as a result of this principal we will be ending with a very sour taste in our mouth. 04/30/12 - Judy is very unprofessional in her dealings with her parents. She is unapproachable and does not think her decisions through and often changes her mind after she changes a policy. She hides behind the dioceses of "Kathy said" way too often. She is not kid friendly - the children are afraid of her whch is not what you want in an elementary school. Show More Show Less
