My parents told me she was a Governors School Teacher of the Year twice (1998, 1999) and has won several awards for teaching in sciences (American Chemical Society of Princeton and others). I can see why. She teaches very well, and uses no notes. She's very smart in her field. I love her, my sister and brother both loved her as well. Sad she's retiring this year, Good Luck in retirement Mrs. Norato. WWPHS North wont be the same without you.
Norato is a cool person but a not such good teacher. I had her for both Honors and AP Chem. Test are sometimes really hard while others easy. Just ask her if you dont understand something.
Excellent teacher. My daughter is lazy and blames the teacher when her grades are bad,but Julie Norato would not let her get away with it. My daugther has excelled since being in Mrs Norato's class
Couldnt really teach the material well. She had to be corrected many times in class and on tests/labs because she took off random points. You learn more chem in biology than you will in her class.
i cannot understand why she did not teach. though we could have gone up and asked her, we should not have had to. if we only have independent study, why is someone sitting up there for an hour of our time? it is a combination of lecture and study. people say she was nice. she also played favorites. i had people encourage me to take chem honors because they said: "she likes you." she also had a bad attitude when we went over tests. she also said herself that we were too behind to properly prepare for SATII.
nice person but bad teacher. She doesn't realyl teach, you have to teach your test, tests are not consistent, some easy as anything some extremely hard
as a chem teacher she is a complete and utter failure. there is nothing about her class that i did not have to go out of my way to seek and learn myself, including the things she taught incorrectly. a nice person and im sure she has good intentions, but really...
nice teacher who is very helpful. some say she doesn't teach but all you have to do is go up to her and ask her about the subject. after you do this, she will explain the subject to you until you understand it.
does not teach at all but helpful if you go up to her and ask her your own questions. also, she is very easy except you have to check over the tests she grades because half the time, she grades them incorrectly
For honors, she's stopped teaching us, almost completely. I'm not one for lectures, but one or two here or there to clear things up would be nice. and the tests obviously seem to get harder the less she teaches. In the end, everyone in all her classes are forced to work together constantly and teach themselves
she's a good person, but sometimes i wonder whether she unerstans what she is teaching. take the class (easy A) but don't expect alot of learning.
(for chem honors) well... easy to get a C without working and just copying HW and stuff, kinda hard to get an B, somewhat hard to get an A. This is cuz she barely teaches. i like teachers that dont lecture a lot. but when she lectures... o man. often times she dusnt have a lesson plan and just pulls out a text book and reads it out. by october youll be wishing she was absent. but she did recomend nylf, which i heard was AWESOME. my friends thank her for that.
sure she has her days (or weeks) but common guys she not all that bad
i only had her for chem hns, and maybe its not her fault cuz she was forced to teach the class, but she cant teach chem for her life. "covers" about 2 chapters a day. and she thinks we're all stupid or something. but as a person, i've had much worse. nice if ur on her good side.
She's possibly the worst teacher I've ever had - she never teaches
awesome teacher - especially if you hate lectures and want to learn by doing activities/labs (labs are much more in quantity than mr. corriveau, but a lot easie
okay teacher, boring class. i wish she'd do more teaching herself. covers the main concepts really well though
She is awsome, with all my bad expiriences with science teachers in my life it is refreshing to have someone like hr around!
don't get on her bad side, but if you are on her good side she can be your best friend.
She teaches well and is very clear. Sometimes her classes are boring, but you have to understand that she is teaches us boring stuff in the easiest ways.
Can teach better than any other science teacher at north.
She's not reasonable at all, she only sees things her way.
