I'd say all of her poor reviews come from her male students. She treats her male and female students equally which is uncommon at New Hope, especially in their English Department. She is very knowledgeable on the literature she teaches and she is always willing to continue a conversation outside of school. No matter the grade you get on a paper, she always gives useful feedback.
Could use some phsyciatric help! She is paranoid and dilusional, and I agree with the rater from 1/17/12 in that she has it in for boys. Additionally, it seems as though if someone is not an honors
A lot of people that hated her. but shes not that bad. Shes pretty nice. At the end of the class I ended up with something like a 63% and she gave me the remanding percentage points so I could pass.
I love Mrs. Gomez! I know she's one teacher who really supports me and beleives in me.
Stressful: sometimes she's nice, but I at least always worried that there was some kind of agenda. Something is lurking in her depths, and I don't know if it's frightening or not. But she does teach.
i had to change my writing for what she thought was "correct" in order to get a decent grade. Changes writing too much. Difficult to get along with most of the time.
Gomez's problem is that she's paranoid. Somewhere deep down is a nice person, but it so rarely pops up. Also likes to use scare tactics in class, though not consciously.
Unsupportive, doesn't read or care about reading, grades you on your opinions. The worst teacher I've had in my life.
Always tells us what to write for our own choice papers
Straight 84's, whether I spent half an hour or four hours on the paper. I hated her class with a freaking passion- but she does prepare you for the AP test.
Mrs. Gomez, although many would disagree was an extremly good teacher, prepared me for my college english classes, and in my opionion is a very likeable person
my god. i really didnt like this woman. i really really didnt like this woman.
grades determined by how much she likes you; not how much she likes your work
Ouch. All I have to say about that class. Harsh grading (84 all the way!), poor preparation for the AP test, and overall lack of actually doing stuff in class
She has no right to be teaching. The only valuable thing I learned in her class is what exactly not to do if you're an English teacher.
She does not grade you on what you hand in, the grade she gives is random. She is not helpful when u ask her a question she avoids it or claims that u understand
Does not have an understanding of her subject. Would be nice if she read the books before the students.
unclear, difficult in grading, unfair for some students, but cared
Strange. Nice, very nice. Didn't understand Death of a Salesman or much else.
