I take English 10 with Chapman. To start, at times he likes to overanalyzing literature, and I mean to an unhealthy amount. His class can definitely get boring. And then there are the "MOEs", aka summative assessments. The grading is very arbitrary and low grades are often handed out on good work. As the year goes on he starts to not care and he gives you less time to do MOEs and more work to do in them. If you take his class, you'll survive, but there are MUCH better teachers.
He isn't an active presense in the classroom. He lets the students get away with just about anything. He doesn't have deadlines, so students are basically encouraged to procrastinate, and there's not much respect that comes from his students.
JChap was the man. We all love him. Take his Lit. Film class- its the best. He's one of those teachers that can relate to high school students. He is a skier and he loves movies; whats not to love!
Pretty much the best teacher that I've ever had. I've had him for two years and love everything that I've had with him.
The coolest, most insightful guy ever -- definitely one of my favorite teachers of all time.
Mr. Chapman is a pretty cool guy. He doesn't believe in deadlines so you basically have the whole year to hand in your work. He is a cool guy, but we don't really do a whole lot in his class.
