I had her twice, and by my junior year I was attending a JC to get my degree in English. By 21 I had my degree and moved overseas to teach English. I currently hold a CA credential and taught at Rio Mesa for a short time. I don't know if she will see this, but, Kelly Dobbe became an English teacher due to her inspiration.
I was a student at Santa Clara High. She was one of my most influential teachers, and changed my outlook on life. The class was hard, she made you work, demanded alot, but was the best teacher I had in school; which includes, community college, college and graduate school. I worked super hard for that B. Those who are bitter will find that the world is tough and that Karen Pecht was a missed opportunity to learn and grow as a person and student. I wish my kids were her students.
Mrs. Pecht is a name with weight...If you had her you will know that she was a good teacher. Look inside yourself if you think otherwise...
I had her for english 2h. Her class was difficult but if you figured out just to recite what she said you'd be fine. she is a very nice woman though. rio mesa will miss her.
She cheats students on their grades. She grades on personality is arrogant. My parents had to go to the Board of Education regarding her grading system. Call the Board of ED. if this happens!!
Good teacher, not a hard class but not an easy one either. Almost impossible to get an A (mostly B's) and focuses mainly on writing and analytical reading.
Has some problems relating to students. Not a dediated teacher by any means if you know what I mean. Avoid
She's a great character and one of the best people I've ever met! Henning from Germany
this class was hard, due to all the poem analysis we had to do for example poems from T.S Eliot and other complicated poets, but that is what made the class interesting.
She is the reason that I received the highest possible score on both the AP Language and the AP literature test. She is difficult but it is worth the effort!
I had her in 1987 as a senior for AP English! I am an 8th grade honors English teacher now myself. She rocked! Brought in music, the Canterbury Tales, made i.
